D2R Builds , Diablo 2: Resurrected , Game Guides
The Worldroamer Barb is a hybrid variant of the Barbarian that utilizes all 3 primary offensive abilities (Whirlwind for damage, Frenzy for movespeed and sustain with lifetap, and Beserk for physical immunes). Additionally, Find Item should receive at least a single point, but also be min/maxed depending on your preferred damage to MF% ratio. Unlike the Pitzerker variant, the Worldroamer is effective in all areas, especially as a magic finder, and requires less micromanagement than the Pitzerker. You will have more autonomy to farm all areas including terror zones, though may struggle in higher difficulties with clear speed.
Stat Distribution
Here is the standard Stat distribution, however a more detailed discussion can be found below where some extra considerations may mean a full vita barb is suboptimal.
Stat | Points |
Strength | Enough for Gear |
Dexterity | Enough for Gear |
Vitality | Everything Else |
Energy | None |
As you will not necessarily require more life points given your strong resistances, life leech, life tap and good general survivability. You can add additional strength for damage, or dexterity for attack rating as you see fit.

Item Build
Weapon: Grief (Phase Blade preferred) - Highest Damage and attack speed |
Weapon Last Wish (Phase Blade) - Lifetap with Frenzy + Fade |
Weapon Swap: 6x Ist Rune Weapon x2 (360MF%) |
Body Armor: Enigma |

Belt: Goldwrap (MF) or Trang Belt (Cannot be Frozen) or Verdungos (Survivability) |
Ring 1: Ravenfrost |
Ring 2: Dual Leech/AR ring (FCR may be helpful in this slot to remove one frame from your teleport, additionally Mana Leech is prioritized over HP Leech in this slot). |
Amulet: Highlord’s Wrath, or Metalgrid for a Golem that will provide an aura (Insight, Pride depending on budget). |
Charm 1: Barbarian Hellfire Torch |
Charm 2: Annihilus |
Charm 3: Gheed’s Fortune |
Charm 4: Optional Physical Sunder |
Rest of Charms: Charms with either Small, Large or Grand Charms: Resistances and Life |
Mercenary
For the Worldroamer, the Act 1 Mercenary is the strongest as she can equip Faith, offering you a strong Fanaticism aura which ensures you hit optimal breakpoints for whirlwind and frenzy.
Merc Gear |
Weapon: Faith (Matriarchal or Grand Matron Bow) |
Body Armor: Ethereal Fortitude |
Helm: Ethereal Andariel’s Visage |
Playstyle and Notes:
The playstyle for the Worldroamer is fun, high speed and varied. You will be somewhat tanky, especially when your fade is proc’d from Last Wish. You will have high damage and attack speed, and run faster then you can teleport once Frenzy is stacked. Your main damage source is whirlwind, but you should be weaving Frenzy attacks during attacks, to ensure movement and IAS stacks are kept up between mobs. Additionally, remember to switch to Beserk for Stone Skinned champions, or high physical immune act bosses like Baal. You should have good life leech your items and mana leech from the ring slot (hopefully). However, if you require extra sustain, switch to Frenzy until you lifetap. Remember to use Find Item when you kill champion monsters.
Standard, Pitzerker Variant (Currently Strongest D2R MF Build):
I will also briefly cover the pitzerker variant in this guide as the Worldroamer can be easily tweaked to become a pitzeker with a few gear changes (and easily attainable tokens or stat reset quest). By taking advantage of the Find item ability available to the Berserker Barbarian, you can double monster drops and fast-track your Magic Finding (you can stack up to 1000% MF). Zerk Barbarian when fully equipped, is the best specialized Magic Finding build in the game, made to excel and farm in specific high ilvl areas where you can find the rarest drops and most expensive loot without the struggle of slow kill speed.
Stats:
The Zerk barb’s specialized skill set means that you only need enough Vitality to ensure you don’t die within the specific areas you are farming. This also frees up extra points to either strength (more damage) or dexterity (more attack rating). I prefer strength as Beserk already provides a large AR boost.
Skills
Skill | Points |
Berserk | 20 |
Weapon Mastery of Choice | 20 |
Battle Orders | 20 (or less) |
Find Potion | 20 |
Find Item | 15+ |
Increased Speed | 1 |
Natural Resistance | 1 |
Howl | 1+ |
Battle Command | 1 |
The above skill build optimizes your find item ability, accounting for diminishing returns around 70-75%. Find potion gives a flat non-diminishing 1% to your find item ability and is the better ability to max first out of the two.
The rest of your abilities should be towards maximizing your Berserk damage, and Battle Orders. You may consider opting in to maximizing Berserk damage first, if you do not require the survivability of Battle Orders.
Optimized Build
Weapon: Grief (Phase Blade preferred) |
Weapon Offhand: Phase Blade socketed with 6 Ist Runes |
Weapon Swap: Wizardspike, Wizardspike |
Body Armor: Enigma |
Helm: Harlequin Crest |
Gloves: Chance Guards |
Boots: War Traveler |
Belt: Goldwrap |
Ring 1: Nagelring or 40%MF rare ring |
Ring 2: Nagelring, 40% MF rare ring, or +10% Faster Cast Rate to reach the 105% breakpoint |
Amulet: Highlord’s Wrath, Barb Skills and MF% Amulet, or Amulet with +5% Faster Cast Rate to reach the 105% breakpoint |
Charm 1: Barbarian Hellfire Torch |
Charm 2: Annihilus |
Charm 4: 40% Magic Find Gheed’s Fortune |
Rest of Charms: Small Charms with 7% Magic Find (Resistances or Max damage / AR desirable secondary mod) |
While it would take one D2R Item (Arreats Face providing 30% FHR) to achieve a 3 frame difference in your FHR, it is unnecessary given the un-interruptibility of Berserk, and better to opt for Shako for an even higher MF%. FCR is important to max your speed during MF runs. It is important in order to teleport quickly as you look for boss minions to kill and force double drops from.
Merc Gear |
Weapon: Ethereal Reaper’s Toll |
Body Armor: Treachery |
Helm: Ethereal Andariel’s Visage with Ral Rune |
Conclusion
The Worldroamer is a very strong magic finding “generalist” Barbarian that should excel at solo farming all areas, and traversing the entire D2R landscape. The playstyle should suit those that prefer to explore more than the optimized farming areas (compared to the “specialized” MF pitzerker which serves the opposite purpose). Given the gear overlap, you can easily transition from one to the other with minimal additional gear investment, so you may consider gearing for both on one character.
