Game Guides , World Of Warcraft
There are lots of WoW The War Within mounts that you can get, but not all of them are worth the time, effort, and gold. If you want to make sure you’re exploring the world in style, then you’ve come to the right place.
We’re going to give you a glimpse of the best mounts and how to get them. Before that, you’re going to need a ton of gold for this adventure.
Make sure to check out RPGStash’s WoW Store! We’ve got great deals on WoW The War Within Gold, delivered to your account safely.
10. Shadowed Swarmite
First on the list is the Shadowed Swarmite, a mount tied to the regular Glory of the Raider achievement. Each raid tier brings a new mount, and for The War Within, this achievement comes from the Nerub’ar Palace raid.
These Glory achievements are essentially a compilation of gimmick challenges for every raid encounter on normal difficulty or higher.
What does that mean for you? Each achievement typically involves quirky spins on raid mechanics—sometimes requiring you to tackle additional mechanics or even confront unique NPCs that fundamentally alter how you approach the fight.
Think of it as a hard mode for certain encounters.
At this point, there’s limited information about all the required achievements due to restricted testing and implementation. Explaining every single achievement here would make this guide exceptionally long, so you’ll want to check detailed guides once they’re available.
Now, what about the Swarmite itself? It’s essentially a recolor of mounts we’ve seen before, notably resembling the Leaping Vine Seeker.
That said, many players enjoy the challenge of tackling familiar fights in a new way, even if it’s just once. And hey, at least this mount can fly—unlike the grounded Glory mounts from Dragonflight!
Beyond functionality, it’s worth noting that the Shadowed Swarmite’s large, goofy eyes add a touch of humor. This makes it an excellent fit for silly transmogs, even if it’s not an instant favorite for collectors.
Since it sticks to a familiar aesthetic, its appeal might feel a bit muted, but it still deserves recognition for shaking up raid strategies.
9. Wick and the Stonevault Mechsuit
In ninth place, we’re spotlighting two mounts—Wick and the Stonevault Mechsuit. Though they come from different dungeons, their acquisition methods are so similar that it makes sense to group them together.
To snag Wick, you’ll need to dive into the new Darkflame Cleft dungeon on Mythic difficulty and defeat the Darkness boss. The drop rate for this mount is reportedly quite low, mirroring rare mounts from Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands.
As with similar mounts, Wick might be tradable among your group members, though this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The good news? Unlike older Mythic dungeons, The War Within introduces daily lockouts for Mythic runs instead of weekly ones. This means you can attempt to farm Wick much more frequently, especially towards the end of a season.
Unfortunately, Darkflame Cleft isn’t part of the Mythic+ rotation in Season 1. Hardcore collectors won’t be able to spam it repeatedly with Keystone runs—at least, not until Season 2 rolls around.
In the meantime, you’ll likely be visiting this dungeon frequently for other rewards, so don’t stress too much about farming Wick right away.
The Stonevault Mechsuit, meanwhile, is tied to the Stonevault dungeon. The key difference? Stonevault is included in Season 1’s Mythic+ rotation, giving collectors more options for farming.
The process for obtaining this mount includes an extra step: when you defeat Voidspeaker Arich, the mount will drop as a quest item called Malfunctioning Mechsuit. Turning this item in to an NPC gets you the repaired Mechsuit as your reward.
While both Wick and the Mechsuit share the same rarity factor, the Mechsuit adds a touch of prestige with its unique quest mechanic.
However, it’s still just a reskin—specifically of the Sky Golem or Felsteel Annihilator mounts. Wick, on the other hand, stands out as a fresh addition to the mount roster.
8. Machine Defense Unit 1-11
Coming in at number eight is the Machine Defense Unit 1-11, which can be obtained from a new scenario called Awakening the Machine. This scenario revamps the concept of Proving Grounds by focusing on class-specific challenges like tanking or healing.
In this mode, your goal is to defend an NPC named Speaker Kolnus against waves of enemies. Kolnus also serves as your point of entry for the scenario and tracks your progress.
As you advance, the enemies become tougher, and if you or Kolnus fall, the scenario resets to wave one.
Achievements tied to wave milestones—such as waves 10, 20, 30, and beyond—grant cosmetic rewards, but the mount itself requires a specific achievement: It’s Not Much, But It’s Honest Work.
This achievement involves defeating the Awakened Phalynx, presumed to be the scenario’s final boss. No one has confirmed the exact wave this NPC spawns in, so expect a trial-and-error process.
You can tackle this scenario solo or with up to four friends. While solo attempts are possible, having a coordinated group will likely make things easier.
Additionally, you can purchase upgrades for this mode using Resonance Crystals, a universal currency found throughout The War Within. These upgrades are linked to your Assembly of Depths Renown, meaning the mode becomes easier as you progress with this faction.
The Machine Defense Unit 1-11’s reskin status might disappoint some collectors, but its unique acquisition method offers a fun and challenging twist, reminiscent of a Black Ops Zombies mode.
7. Beledar’s Spawn
At number seven, we have Beledar’s Spawn, a rare drop from an NPC of the same name found in the Hollowfall zone.
Tracking Beledar can be tricky due to its scattered spawn locations, but you can use an item called Beledar’s Attunement to pinpoint it. You’ll need Resonance Crystals to purchase this item, and your Hall of Fall Rothy Renown must be at least level 23.
Timing is crucial for this mount. Beledar only spawns during the Void Phase, a special event where the zone’s giant crystal changes from gold to purple.
This phase lasts 30 minutes and occurs every three hours. Random Void Phases may also happen, but these last only 10 minutes, and Beledar does not spawn during them.
Despite its recolor status, Beledar’s Spawn stands out thanks to its association with rare and prestigious mounts like Glacial Tidestorm and Restoration Deathwalker. For collectors, its exclusivity adds significant appeal.
6. Raging Cinderbee
At number six, we have the Raging Cinderbee, a reward for completing the world PvP meta-achievement, Ruia's Bid. This achievement challenges you to complete a series of PvP objectives across The War Within zones.
If you’ve dabbled in Blizzard’s PvP achievements before, this setup may feel familiar—think Battle for Azeroth’s Conqueror Scythemaw meta-achievement, which revolved around the War Mode system.
To get the Raging Cinderbee, you’ll need to enable War Mode, as gaining honor through PvP is essential. You can’t progress without it unless you happen upon a stray flagged player while doing world quests.
The Achievement Breakdown
- Tour of Duty: There are four achievements, one for each zone (Island of Dorne, Ringing Deeps, Hollowfall, Asah’At), requiring you to gather 1,000 honor per zone for a total of 4,000 honor. Honor is zone-specific, so you’ll need to spread your efforts.
- Sparking Battle: Complete 20 Sparks of War quests. These weekly quests require you to kill players and collect treasures called Sparks of War. This alone will take a minimum of 20 weeks.
- Unbound Battle: Finish every War Within world PvP quest. If you’re farming honor consistently, this should come naturally.
- A Champion’s Tour: Complete the same PvP world quests five times each. It’s tedious, but completing this also rewards you with a bonus pet, the Purple Stag Shell.
Once all these tasks are complete, the flaming Raging Cinderbee will be yours to showcase to your friends.
However, since not everyone is into world PvP, this achievement may deter some players. PvP participation often drops off later in an expansion, so farming early while more players are active is strongly recommended.
The good news? This achievement won’t be removed after The War Within ends, but farming it later may be more challenging due to lower participation rates.
5. Delver’s Dirigible
At number five, we have the Delver’s Dirigible, which is awarded early in your max-level journey through the new Delve system.
What Are Delves?
Delves are bite-sized, scenario-like content designed for solo players or small groups of up to four. Spread throughout the lands of Clygar, you can enter these at any time. They’re tailored to offer solo players something engaging, even if just for a few minutes.
Rewards and Customization
The dirigible mount is tied to your progress in Delves. As you complete more and unlock higher difficulty levels, you’ll also gain access to new customization options for the dirigible.
Similar to Dragonflight’s renowned Proto-Drake, you can customize it to match your personal style or roleplay preferences.
For those with a darker aesthetic, there’s even a version of the dirigible that appears void-corrupted. Whether you’re a PvE or PvP player, this mount offers something for everyone and stands out as a solid reward for diving into this system.
4. Crowd Pummeler 2-30
At number four is the Crowd Pummeler 2-30, a new, golden reskin of the mech suit mounts. This mount stems from the Sky Golem lineage but comes with far less convenience during crafting.
This mount is tied to the Engineering profession, but non-engineers can obtain it via work orders—though it’ll cost you a hefty sum of gold. Engineers can use two new tools:
- Invent Tool: Produces random inventions on a 24-hour cooldown.
- Pillar Tool: Lets you scavenge spare parts, some of which may be required for crafting.
Crafting Requirements
To craft the Crowd Pummeler 2-30, you need specific materials, many of which must be purchased from Paxton Bombshell near Opportunity Point. Engineers can reduce some costs through specialization, but most players will find this an expensive endeavor. Here’s the breakdown:
- 1,000 Ball Bolts: 100 gold each (100,000 gold total).
- 200 Assorted Whirlygigs: 2,500 gold each (500,000 gold total).
- 80 Blinker Fluids: 5,000 gold each (400,000 gold total).
- 50 Cataclysmic Converters: 1,200 gold each (600,000 gold total).
- 20 Pummel-Proof Platings: 25,000 gold each (500,000 gold total).
- 1 Pummel Permit: 1,000,000 gold.
Grand Total: 3.1 million gold.
For many, the true appeal of this mount is its sheer cost. Like the Bloodfang Widow or the Caravan Brutosaur, it’s a symbol of wealth. Seeing someone riding one screams, "I’ve got gold to burn."
Interestingly, some materials can be found on the auction house, potentially reducing costs for savvy buyers. However, for most players, this mount is a massive investment, making it a luxury item for collectors and high-rollers.
3. Alunira
Alunira is a grindy mount, but it’s less of a headache compared to our last entry. The process for this one is simpler, though still time-consuming.
As you explore the Isle of Dorne, you might notice a rare NPC named Alunira flying around. This rare can't be attacked initially, leaving you puzzled about its purpose.
Here’s the trick: while defeating mobs in the Isle of Dorne, you might loot an epic item called the Crackling Shard. Collecting 10 of these shards allows you to combine them into a Storm Vessel.
Use this vessel on Alunira while she’s alive to make her vulnerable to attack. Defeat her, and you’ll be able to loot the mount—a stunning griffon reskin that mirrors her appearance.
It’s important to note that only the player who summons Alunira with their shards can loot the mount. In other words, you must grind for the shards yourself—there’s no piggybacking off another player’s efforts.
Unfortunately, the shards have an estimated drop rate of less than 1%, and there aren't many mass AoE farm spots in the zone (at least none discovered yet).
While grinding, you might also snag some valuable world-drop BoE items to sell for extra gold—perhaps enough to recover from the costs of earlier grinds like the Crowd Pummeler!
2. Siesbarg
Siesbarg, while noted in the endgame journal as a world quest drop, is actually obtained through an extensive mob grind. The journey begins by defeating a rare NPC in Askahad named Tath.
This rare has a chance to drop the Vial of Tath, which starts a series of quests to unlock Siesbarg.
First, you’ll need to collect 1,500 Narian Chitin, a material that drops from various Nerubian mobs across Calgar, including dungeon and raid enemies. Queueing for dungeons can help you farm these efficiently, but you can also chip away at this goal while pursuing other objectives.
Next, the grind ramps up. You’ll need 1,000 Nerubian Venom, which has a slightly lower drop rate and comes from a smaller subset of mobs.
Finally, the ultimate test: collect 500 Nerubian Blood Samples. These rare items only drop from specific mobs—those resembling Siesbarg from the mount journal and the humanoid ascended Nerubians.
Once you’ve completed these grueling tasks, the quest rewards you with Siesbarg—a prestigious Skyrazor mount. For players who avoid the Rubar Palace raid, this is currently the only Skyrazor available, making it a standout achievement.
1. Ascendant Skyrazor
The Ascendant Skyrazor claims the top spot as the prestigious mount of The War Within—at least until future raid tiers dethrone it. This mount is the reward for defeating the Queen Asaken in Mythic difficulty.
While a Skyrazor mount drops on all difficulties, the Ascendant Skyrazor is guaranteed only on Mythic, with at least one awarded per raid group.
Securing this mount is no small feat. The Mythic encounter with the Queen is a brutal test of skill and coordination, pushing players to their limits.
If you’re not up for the challenge, you could consider paying a high-tier guild for a carry, though that’s an expensive flex in itself. Either way, the Ascendant Skyrazor is a symbol of determination, mastery, and wealth.
Seeing someone on this mount during the expansion signals one thing—they’re a gamer who doesn’t back down from the grind.
20th Anniversary Mounts
Next, we’re diving into all the mounts available during the World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary event which ends on Jan. 25, 2025. Let’s get right into it.

Azur Wind Chiller
This mount can drop by killing Doomwalker, but you can also purchase it from Historian M’dihn for 5,000 Timewarp Badges. I had around 8,000 badges, so I grabbed it directly. That said, Doomwalker dropped it for me as well—lucky, right?Irdari Doomhawk
Another drop from Doomwalker. The best part? You can farm this and similar mounts like Sha of Anger and Archavon on multiple characters for more chances.
World Boss Mounts
If world bosses are your jam, here are some highlights:
Sha of Anger
One of the most beautiful mounts in the game, and you can farm this boss with all your characters. Drops aren’t guaranteed, but I’ve seen at least one per run across my alts.Black War Mammoth
This mount drops off Archavon and is a three-seater, perfect for taking your buddies around. During raids, multiple mounts usually drop—up to five! Keep farming, and you’ll likely snag it eventually.
Vendor Mounts
Next, let’s check out some vendor-exclusive mounts:
Reins of the Frayfeather Hippogryph

Costing 20 Bronze Celebration Tokens, this mount is basically Deathwing in all its glory. If you love intimidating looks, this one’s for you.Kor’kron War Wolf
Another 20-token reward, and it’s huge—easily one of the most striking mounts in the game.

These achievements are straightforward and don’t rely on RNG. You could finish them in a day and claim your guaranteed mount!
PvP Mounts
