41386 0

This guide will assume that you have a pretty good understanding about Runescapes mechanics and items, so it will not extensively cover everything. Please let us know if you want more extensive guides or short format guides.

Most Important Items

In Runescape 3, there are a lot of Items that will actually boost your experience per hour or provide all kinds of benefit when you are training a skill,  here are the most important ones for Construction:

Constructor’s Outfit

To get this outfit you need at least level 44 construction. Obtaining it is a little time consuming as you must first complete up to the third quest in the Myreque quest series. Then you need to participate in both the Temple Trekking and Burgh de Rott Ramble minigames. This set gives a flat experience boost while training Construction.

  • Constructor’s gloves - 1% Experience boost

  • Constructor’s boots - 1% Experience boost

  • Constructor’s hat - 1% Experience boost

  • Constructor’s trousers - 1% Experience boost

  • Constructor’s garb - 1% Experience boost

  • Set bonus - 1% Experience boost

Wearing the full set provides a total of 6% experience boost to Construction.

Portable Workbench

This is useful if you want to follow the “flat packed” items route. It offers a chance to save planks while using it and also it gives 10% more Construction experience. Wearing the Brooch of the Gods will double the chance to save planks.

Monkey Butler

Unlike other butlers this butler does not ask money from the player. You will need at least 50 Construction and 60 Invention to create this butler. You will also need to unlock the ability from the cave goblin technology tree.

Training Methods

Levels 40-50

At this level you can only use regular planks.

It will take 6 contracts to reach level 50 Construction.

Levels 50-60

At level 50 you can start using oak planks and you must immediately switch to oak planks after reaching level 50. Using them will double the credits you earn and grant an extra 200 exp per hotspot. Also it will cut the build time per hotspot to 30 seconds.

It will take 14 contracts using oak planks to reach level 60.

Levels 60-70

Starting at level 60 you can start using teak planks. Using them will provide 90 experience per plank plus 500 experience per hotspot. It will also reduce build time per hotspot to 20 seconds and increase the credits you earn by three times compared to regular planks.

Levels 70-80/99

After reaching level 70 you can start using mahogany planks. They provide 140 experience per plank plus 1000 experience per hotspot. The hotspot build time decreases to 15 seconds, and award 1 credit per hotspot.(5 if you use mahogany planks for the entire contract.)

Fort Forinthry Training

To unlock this method of training your Construction, you will first need to complete the novice quest “New Foundations”. This quest alone will take you all the way up to level 39 Construction. This method of training is the only Construction training method that will make you money.
