OSRS Raids Guide

Game Guides , Runescape
Some say that your OSRS journey isn't complete until you do the Raids in the game. For newbies, Raids might sound like your run-of-the-mill challenges in the game but they're more than that. In fact, you'll need to be fully prepared for these challenges if you want to complete them.
What Are OSRS Raids?
Raids are group activities where you and other players need to defeat several mini-bosses in order to collect rewards that include multiple best-in-slot equipment from the entire game. Because of the advanced difficulty of raids, you must carry all necessary weapons in order to complete the instance. You may also be expected to use a variety of non-combat abilities and solve puzzles.
Every raid occurs in an instance, and the Chambers of Xeric are randomly created except in Challenge Mode. There is a hard mode option for each of the three raids, as well as easier entry mode variants for the Theatre of Blood and the Tombs of Amascut.
Raids are ranked based on the following:
- Chambers of Xeric - The health and combat level of enemies in the Chambers of Xeric are determined by the party size's total skill stats. Meanwhile, the resources and skill challenge requirements are determined by the party's overall skill stats
- Theatre of Blood - The size of the party affects the enemies' health. If a solo or duo attempt is made, the enemies' health is scaled to trio scale.
- Tombs of Amascut - Enemy health and total battle stats are determined by active raid invocations in the Tombs of Amascut. Enemies' health is also determined by party size in groups larger than solo scale.
Raids are indicated by a brown star Raids icon.
Chambers of Xeric Guide
The Chambers of Xeric, also known as Raids 1, is the first raid in Old School Runescape. A lot of people believe that this raid is one of the best game activities that you can complete with your group of friends or clan. This raid is automatically generated upon entry, so each time you enter it will be unique. Some of the bosses are exceedingly difficult. Also, the possibility of winning enormous rewards, like the legendary twisted Bow, can make the raid thrilling. It does, however, have a somewhat steep learning curve, and having a good mentor is highly recommended if you want to do raids efficiently.
Location
The Chambers of Xeric are located on Mount Quidamortem. You can easily reach this through the Lovakengi Minecart Network. Unless you have finished The Forsaken Tower, each ride costs 20 coins; in that case, it is free. If not, you will have to travel to Shayzien's Wall and traverse westward to reach Mount Quidamortem. On your way, be cautious of hostile lizardmen and lizardmen brutes.
If you're arriving there without the mine cart system, speak to the Mountain Guide (located on the mountain next to Gnosi, Historian Duffy, and the Natural Historian) before leaving. Doing so will establish a two-way transportation system between the mountain and the Shayzien's Wall, which can be accessed by using the Book of the Dead and using the History and hearsay option, then run south-west.
Once you receive an ancient tablet as a reward from the Chambers of Xeric, you can use it on Xeric's talisman to instantly teleport to the mountain.
Use fairy ring code bls to go near mount Quidamortem. Run to the north to get to the entry.
How To Do Chambers of Xeric
The Chambers of Xeric employs a unique party finding system to gauge the team's strength. This will have an impact on both the criteria needed in the skilling rooms and the power of the monsters and bosses. While tools are not required, you are welcome to bring their own supplies but you will need to make use of the resources and in the chambers to take down the bosses, who are getting stronger. A raid can be initiated by any number of players, from 1 to 100.
To start the raid, you must create a team first. Other players can join this team by manually typing in the name of the channel. Once everyone's ready, you should proceed inside the chambers, which house the starting room. The raid officially starts once you initiate the raid. At that point, all the mechanics will be calculated and no one can join the instance if they weren't in the time the raid started. If you leave by any means, the next leader will be the person with the highest rank in the Clan Chat, with a minimum rank of recruit. If no one with a suitable rank is found, everyone is kicked out of the instance.
Every raid consists of three floors, with the last floor always holding the boss. An energy well that may be interacted with at the end of the first and second floors fully restores player's run energy. Each floor in a normal-sized raid has two to three combat or puzzle rooms. In large raids, there are usually four of these per floor, maybe with duplicate puzzle rooms.
To kill the bosses and complete the raid, you must cooperate with other players.
Challenge Mode
The Challenge Mode is another version of the existing Chambers of Xeric. All combat and puzzle rooms are featured and the enemies have had their stats greatly raised. Every floor has a fixed layout; teams must complete three floors, with the general difficulty rising as you and your team descend further because all combat and puzzle areas are located inside.
When you finish the mode within a certain amount of time, you can use metamorphic dust to reskin an olmlet and twisted ancestral colour kit to recolor ancestral robes. You can be rewarded with cosmetic capes when you clear specific milestones.
Resources
The Chamber of Xeric has various resources that you can use to facilitate the raid to make things easier.
There are scavenger animals all across the dungeon. There will always be one scavenger chamber in the raid, and it will always be located before the first puzzle room. Every floor usually has one scavenger room, but in uncommon circumstances, you may encounter two. Thus, you should be prepared for this. They are primarily killed for tool and Herblore secondary drops, which are needed to craft items like cave worms and butterfly nets for the resource rooms.
Along with their appearance in different types of rooms, the scavengers are randomly placed; some rooms have a minor bend or curve, while others are vast and always include a boulder, mining rock, or sapling shortcut that you can clear away for points. The number of players participating in the raid determines the number of scavengers in the room, as well as their strength.
If you die in the Chambers, you will drop your raid-only items. For example, if you died with 10 Xeric's aid (+), you will lose them immediately upon dying. However, other items, like a hammer, that can be found will not be dropped.
Food
The team's total Hunter/Fishing level determines the tier for each of these cooking materials, which all require the same level. They aren't often used as in normal raids as Xeric's aid heals more for each inventory space.
To catch bats, you will need a butterfly net.
A fishing rod with cave worms as bait is needed to catch fish. There are three fishing spots in the fishing rooms. One of these three has a cave snake, which can damage you or even take your fish. In case a snake appears in the fishing spot, stop fishing and click somewhere else to avoid taking damage. Only spots that have plain fish and cave snakes will move occasionally.
You can get all the items needed to capture bats and fish from scavengers.

Farming
You can get seeds from several bosses, like the Guardian statues, Lizardmen shamans, and Skeletal mystics. You can also find them by ranking weeds in the top and lower floors.
You can grow herbs in two farming plots in each resource room. Herbs grow in 30 seconds because of the chambers magic.
Seed | Level | Planting XP | Harvest XP |
Golpar seed | Farming 27 | 4 | 10 |
Buchu seed | Farming 39 | 6 | 15 |
Noxifer seed | Farming 55 | 12 | 30 |
Herblore
Bosses can drop potions. Some drop herblore secondaries but you can primarily get them from scavengers.
You can make three types of potions: Golpar, Buchu, and Noxifer. To create them in the chambers, you'll need a gourd, which can be collected from the nearby gourd tree. Then, fill it with water from the nearby water spout or with Humidify. You can bulk pick gourds with the “Pick-lots” option. They automatically break upon drinking the last dose of potion.
Note: Potion tiers are limited to your Herblore level upon creation and will downgrade for overloads. For example, a player with 80 Herblore would be able to make combat+ potions. But as overload+ requires 90 Herblore, your potions will downgrade into a normal overload upon creation.

Storage Units
Storage units are made from mallignum root planks, which you can get as drops from scavengers. You will need a hammer in building these, with the dragon warhammer being a suitable substitute.
Once built, anyone can use it. The shared inventory allows you and other players to store items in the raid. This includes seeds, herbs, tools, potions, and Herblore secondaries. The personal inventory, on the other hand, is much like the shared one. But, it can also hold your belongings, including weapons and armor. You can also store raid-unique items if you want. Additionally, once you’ve built a storage unit anywhere in the Chambers, you can find player-built storage units in hotspots where they’re usually found.
In addition to appearing in resource rooms, ice demon chambers, the corrupted scavenger, and outside of the Great Olm chamber, you can find storage units at the end of each floor.
While you can build higher levelled storage units instantly, they still require the materials to build the previous tiers.
If you leave the Chambers with your personal items still stored in the storage units, you can retrieve them from the private storage next to the bank chest on the mountain. You must empty the private storage unit before you re-enter the Chambers of Xeric. In case you die outside of the Chambers before claiming any items left in the chest, you will not lose your items in the storage. If you’re an Ultimate Iron Man, though, the items will instead be dropped outside of the entrance.
Storage units | Construction level | Planks required | Experience | Capacity (personal) | Capacity |
Small storage unit | 30 | 2 | 150 | 250 | 30 |
Medium storage unit | 60 | 4 | 150 | 500 | 60 |
Large storage unit | 90 | 6 | 150 | 1,000 | 90 |
Massive storage unit | 99 | 8 | 150 | 1,500 | 120 |
Bosses
Bosses drop various items on defeat, except from the Great Old and Ice Demon. These drops are awarded to you if you dealt the most damage to them in the encounter. If you're an Ironman player, all players can pick up the items.
- Ice Demon
- Lizardman Shamans
- Muttadiles
- Skeletal Mystics
- Tekton
- Vanguards
- Vasa Nistirio
- Vespula
- Great Olm (final boss)
Reward System
"Participation" points are used to determine player rewards. Your team has a better possibility of earning unique items as all the players collect more points. Individually, these points determine the quantity of common rewards. If you die in a raid, you will lose 40% of the points you had before your death. If you die with no items in hand, or extremely few personal points, your team's overall points are reduced by 5% instead.
As of now, each player can only have a maximum of 131,071 points. The team's total points still include any additional points that a player with maximum personal points would have received.
Gaining Points
There are several methods to gain points in raids, and the number of options varies according to the number of players participating. Check out a brief explanation of every method to earn points within the Chambers of Xeric below.
- Combat - You will receive points in the Chambers of Xeric depending on the amount of damage dealt.
- Storage unit - You will receive 100 points per tier when building or upgrading the Storage unit.
- Shortcuts - You can find shortcuts which require Mining, Woodcutting, or Strength in some scavenger rooms. Clearing this rewards you with some points.
- Muttadile - There is a meat tree in the Muttadile room. Some points will be rewarded when you cut this tree.
- Guardians - The guardians will push you if you stem in between them, inflicting damage and awarding points. This is the only approach in the raid that doesn't have a point cap.
- Cooking Food - you can catch bats using Hunter and catch fish using Fishing within the Chambers of Xeric. When any player eats them and heals damage, the player that cooked the food is awarded points. The player who cooked the food earns 50% more points than they would have if they were to eat it themselves if another player used it to heal. Psykk bats, found in the Thieving room, count as food cooked by the player who found them.
- Potions - Points are given to the player who creates or obtains potions from a boss when they are used appropriately. The points given are capped at five sips times the number of players participating in the raid, plus five extra at a reduced amount. If a player other than the one who made the potion consumes them, they receive additional points. Since the point cap for potions is based on doses consumed rather than points gained, you should try to avoid drinking any other potions throughout the raid as overloads reward the highest amount of points; 75 Herblore for overload and 90 Herblore for overload+.
- Crabs - Once you successfully change the color of the crystal in the Jewelled Crab room, you will receive points for attacking or being targeted by any crab, including the ones not used to bounce the floating crystal.
- Ice Demon - You are rewarded with points when you deposit kindling in the braziers in the Ice demon room.
- Thieving - You are given 100 points per worm when you fill the trough with cave worms in the Thieving room. The number of worms needle varies according to how many people are taking part in the raid; 30 cave worms are needed for a solo raid, and 16 worms per player, minus 1, are needed for larger raids.
- Tightrope - Some points are awarded when you use the keystone crystal on the barrier in the tightrope room.

Regardless of whether you obtain a unique drop or not, you may always additionally get the dark journal if you still don't have it, and the metamorphic dust/twisted ancestral color kit if you're completing a challenge mode raid if successfully rolled on.
The beam of light above the chest varies depending on the loot you obtain. By default, the light is white. If you obtained a metamorphic dust, it is turquoise. It turns green if you obtained a twisted ancestral color kit. Meanwhile, the light alternates between each appropriate color if multiple drops are obtained simultaneously.

Theatre of Blood Guide
The Theatre of Blood, also known as TOB or Raids 2, is a non-random raid in Old School Runescape. It is one of the most profitable ways you can make money in the game. For starters, it is a huge arena that ruling vampyres use to host blood sports. The only requirement to participate in the raid is the completion of the Priest in Peril quest, which many players find hard to do.
Here, the Meiyerditch citizens are encouraged to go to the theatre and fight against the experiments and abominations contained within, with the promise of freedom from the blood tithes and the right to leave Morytania if they succeed. The vampyres’ refusal to part with their main food source makes the reward appear to be a hoax.
Although only Meiyerditch residents are permitted to the theatre, this restriction is rarely followed. Since outsiders are better prepared than the less experienced and ill-prepared citizens, the vampyres find greater amusement in strangers than in themselves.
Location
The Theatre of Blood is a raid that lies beneath the castle of Ver Sinhaza. To get there, there are three methods you can do. First is by using the Drakan's medallion, which provides unlimited teleports directly to Ver Sinhaza. You can find this medallion locked behind the completion of A Taste of Hope quest.
Another way to get there is by paying 10,000 coins to Andras, north of the Ectofuntus in Port Phasmatys to travel to Slepe. Then, run south from there. You can also use an Ectophial to get to the ectofuntus and run south from there.
The third method you can use is to take the boat from Burgh de Rott to the Meiyerditch beach after starting Darkness of Hallowvale. Then, walk to the Theatre without having to navigate through the city.
How To Do Theatre Of Blood
The Threatre of Blood, in contrast to the other raids, solely consists of combat engagements. Five mini-bosses precede the fight with Verzik Vitur, by far the strongest monster in the game. There are two modes available in the Theatre of Blood: Hard and Entry.
In all modes, the raid can be challenged by up to five players. Entry mode serves as a more beginner-friendly introduction to the raid's mechanics but at the expense of fewer rewards and no opportunity to gain rare items. If you have completed the normal mode, you'll then be eligible for Hard Mode, which changes the bosses' mechanics to make them more difficult.
Bosses
The Theatre of Blood is a linear raid. This means there's no randomization involved and you will encounter the bosses in this order.
- The Maiden of Sugadinti (level-940)
- Pestilent Bloat (level-870)
- Nylocas Vasilias (level-800)
- Sotetseg (level-995)
- Xarpus (level-960)
- Verzik Vitur (level-1040, final boss)
Even though some of the bosses are vampyres and dark beasts, killing them within the theater will not count towards a Slayer task. That said, the slayer helmet and black mask bonuses have no effect.
The bosses will also have their hitpoints scaled, depending on your team's size. The bosses' hitpoints will remain the same if a team consists of five players. But, if there are three or fewer players, the bosses will have 75% of their initial hitpoints. If there are four players, the bosses will have 87.5% of their original hitpoints.
Death within the Theatre
If you or other players die in the theatre, you'll be placed outside the fighting area and can only proceed if other team members succeed in completing the current challenge. You will lose all unprotected items if your team is killed; these can later be recovered at a cost of 100,000 coins from a storage chest that's similar to Torfinn's item storage. Upon complete team death in the theatre, non-tradeable items that are normally kept on death are placed in the item reclamation chest. Unless the death occurs within a minigame that is considered safe, like Pest Control, items in the chest will be permanently lost if players die a second time and fail to retrieve them.
It is dangerous to die in the Theatre of Blood since Hardocre Ironmen who die there will no longer be considered Hardcore, even if the team succeeds in completing the challenges. Any disconnections or logouts that occur during the battle are regarded as fatalities and will also cause the loss of Hardcore status.
If you log out while not engaged in a fight, like in the hallways of the theatre, your death will be treated as a safe death. When you log back in after an unsafe death, the game will try to connect you with your group. If it's successful, it will place you in purgatory. If not, you will be treated with a full death and will need to pay the item reclamation cost in order to get back any lost stuff.
The only option for you and other players to safely leave the Theatre is to purchase escape crystals from the Mysterious Stranger outside, who charges 75,000 coins each. All other normal means of teleportation are barred within the Theatre.
Spectating
You and other players can spectate other teams in the Theatre of Blood by attempting to enter the theatre or by speaking to Abigaila, a Morytanian refugee who can be found upstairs in the Lumbridge General Store or near the spirit tree north-east of the Grand Exchange.
To spectate, you cannot bring any items with you except the oculus orb. Additionally, you must not be posoned or diseased.

Rewards
A trapdoor beneath Verzik Vitur's throne will open if she is defeated, revealing her treasure vault. Depending on the number of players on the team, there may be up to five large chests within, and each player may only take one chest out of the treasure. You will be able to locate the chest by following an arrow.
If you obtain a unique reward, a purple aura will emit from the chest, much like how the ray of light turns purple for players who obtain a unique reward in the Chambers of Xeric. Three rolls from the common drop table will be found in the chest if no unique reward is found. You can get the following special goodies from the chest:
- Avernic defender hilt, used to upgrade the dragon defender
- Pieces of the Justiciar armour:
- Justiciar faceguard
- Justiciar chestguard
- Justiciar legguards
- Ghrazi rapier
- Sanguinesti staff
- Scythe of vitur
In addition to the previously mentioned drops, vials of blood are also frequently obtainable. They may be used to make battlemage and bastion potions, as well as charge the Vitur scythe.
You can find books and grand bookshelves in the raid and treasure vault. Below are the books you can find.

Performance and Records
Performance Details
You can view the team's performance by reading the strategy table beside the grand bookshelves upon entering the treasure vault. If you're a spectator, you can watch it by reading the war table.
Here, you can see how many times each team member has died, how many deaths there have been overall during the performance, and how long each wave has lasted.
Based on each player's performance, including the amount of damage they do and the number of deaths they cause, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) is shown at the top of the interface. On the bottom of the interface are the challenge time (the amount of time you spend battling the bosses) and the overall time (the amount of time you spend in between waves).
Scoreboard
A scoreboard with global and personal statistics about the Theatre of Blood, including the number of attempts, completions, deaths, and completion times, is located next to the entrance.
Tombs of Amascut Guide
The Tombs of Amascut is, also known as ToA or Raids 3, requires you to complete the Beneath Cursed Sands quest. Though the raid's name suggests otherwise, the tomb belongs to Pharaoh Osmumten, and you and other players must assist him in driving Amascut out of his tomb. You can do this by releasing the lesser gods of the Menaphite Pantheon from her grasp and prevent her from taking the divine weapons that are hidden within and using them to become a god.
Up to eight players may try the raid.
Location
There are several ways to get to the necropolis. One of the quickest methods that you can do is by teleporting to Jalvetas via the Pharaoh's sceptre. But, remember, you will need to use the sceptre on the obelisk north of the necropolis mine. Another way you can get to the location is by teleporting via fairy ring code akp. However, this method requires level 63 Agility.
There are also other slower methods to reach the necropolis. One is by using the magic carpet from Shantay Pass to Pollnivneach and another carpet from the south side of Pollnivneach to Sophanem. Then, walk south-east. This costs 400 coins without Rogue Trader. It only costs 200 coins with the Rogue Trader miniquest.
Aside from that, you can also use the Construction cape or Pollnivneach teleport to teleport to Pollnivneach. Then, run south to the carpet to Sophanem.
Another method is to run south-west after teleporting to Nardah.
How To Do Tombs of Amascut
You can play The Tombs of Amascut with one to eight people. During group encounters, the bosses' base health will be increased by 90% for the second, third, and fourth members, and 60% for the remaining members.
Except for Telekinetic Grab, standard spellbook utility spells cannot be cast inside the riad. However, Lunar spellbook utility spells can be used.
Bosses
There are four pathways that make up the Tomb of Amascut namely Tumeken's avatars: Apmeken, Crondis, Scabaras, and Het. Every path has a boss after the challenge section. You may choose to take on these in any order. The sequence in which the bosses are slain may matter if path leveling is enabled; otherwise, it makes little difference.
Once you complete all four paths, the lower level where the final boss fight takes place becomes accessible. You can only claim rewards after you've defeated them.
Invocations and Raid Level
The Tombs of Amascut employs the invocation system, which lets you choose which invocations to customize a Raid Level that modifies the stats of the NPCs in the raid. An NPC's hitpoints, defense, accuracy, and damage increase by 2% cumulatively for each raid level, with damage reaching a maximum of +150%.
Mode | Raid Level |
Entry Mode | 0-149 |
Normal Mode | 150-299 |
Expert Mode | 300-600 |
Aside from making the raid harder, a higher raid level increases your overall drops and the chances for unique items to be rolled. You can see this in the raid party's invocation tab within the raid party interface, accessed via the Grouping Obelisk where you can create raid parties.

Consumables
Consumables are obtained in the Nexus of the Tombs of Amascut from supplies provided by the Helpful Spirit. Once you've finished two routes, you can claim them from the ghost. You can do so again after finishing the other two tracks and before moving on to the final encounter.
Supply amounts are determined by the active invocations of the raid: "Need Some Help?", "Need Less Help?" and "No Help Needed" reduce the amount of supplies to 66%, 33%, and 10%. Regardless of the reduction percentage, there will always remain at least one supply of that kind.
Death within the Tombs
If a limited attempt invocation is not activated for the team, you and the other players will automatically die an unlimited number of times. However, if one of these invocations is used, an attempt is only recorded when every member of the team dies during a challenge. You also have to recreate the room in which you all died, saving your prior progress and receiving honey locusts in the event that the "On a Diet" invocation is dormant.
If your entire team is killed and there are no more limited attempts left, you will lose all unprotected items, which you can later reclaim from a storage where the reclaim fee is based on the item's respective Grand Exchange values, up to 500,000 coins.
If you die a second time without reclaiming the items from the storage, you will lose them permanently, unless the death occurs within a minigame deemed safe, like Pest Control.
Like in the Theatre of Blood, dying in the Tombs of Amascut is dangerous. If you're a Hardcore Ironman and you die in the tomb, you will lose your Hardcore status.
Any disconnect or logout during a battle is considered a death and will also result in the loss of Hardocre status if any of the death invocations are enabled. If you log out of a game while not participating in an encounter, such as the Nexus of the Tomb, your death will be considered a safe one.

Rewards
Your party will be able to enter the treasure room and get your prize for assisting Osmumten in vanquishing Amascut's thralls once you have defeated the Wardens.
Similar to the Theatre of Blood, Osmumten's sarcophagus will glow purple rather than white upon completion of the raid, and the designated player will be allowed to unlock it rather than the side chests. An animation shows what's inside the sarcophagus when it's opened. Each raid is limited to one unique acquisition, if any at all. Three rolls from the common drop table will be found in the chest if no unique item is rolled. You can get the following unique drops from the sarcophagus:
Pieces of the Masori armour:
- Masori mask
- Masori body
- Masori chaps
- Lightbearer
- Osmumten's fang
- Elidini's ward
- Tumeken's shadow
There are also tertiary items which you can roll alongside any reward. The unique tertiary rewards from the Tombs of Amascut include the following:
- Thread of Elidinis, can be used to create the divine rune pouch
Jewels with the ability to enhance the keris partisan:
- Breach of the scarab
- Eye of the corruptor
- Jewel of the sun
- And the pet from the raid, Tumeken's guardian
If you completed the raid with less than 1,500 points, you will receive fossilised dung instead. If you leave the room after opening the chest, you can find rewards through the rewards niche in the south-east corner of the lobby room. If you re-enter the raid without claiming your rewards from the rewards niche, you will lose them; you will be warned of this prior to entering another raid.
You can find six books during the raid.
