OSRS houses a lot of production skills. Skills such as Smithing, where you get to create your own armor and weapons, to Fletching and Runecrafting where you get to craft your own ammunition for various ranged weapons and magic spells. Crafting is one of these production skills that, at high levels, lets you craft the best jewelry and ranged armors in the game. There are many ways to train your Crafting on OSRS, and in this guide, we will cover every method from the most efficient to the most cost-efficient!
OSRS Fastest Way to Level 99 Crafting
This section of the guide will solely focus on the fastest experience rates that will get you to level 99 Crafting in the shortest amount of time possible (reasonable, so we won't be recommending that you cut thousands of onyxs!) These methods will be expensive and will require a ton of OSRS Gold, so get your pockets ready!
Levels 1-7 Leather Items
Welcome to the cheapest part of the guide: getting to level 20, which will only cost you around 300 gold. Get a total of 48 leather pieces, some thread and needles, and do the following:
- Levels 1-7 Leather Gloves: You will need to have 48 leather pieces to get to level 7 Crafting.
Levels 7-20 Bracelets
Get yourself a bracelet mould and some gold bars, because we are opening a jewelry shop. From level 7 to 20 make gold bracelets.
- Levels 7-20 Gold Bracelets: Each gold bracelet gives off 25 experience, which can result in an incredible 40K experience per hour. Also, this method will actually make you some money!
Levels 20-77 Cutting Gems

At level 20, we can start cutting some proper gems. This method is extremely simple and fast but requires a ton of gold. If you have to pockets for it, this is what you will be doing until level 77 Crafting:
- Levels 20-27 Sapphires: Get 106 sapphires alongside a chisel and start cutting them. You can get up to 139K experience per hour doing this.
- Levels 27-34 Emeralds: Get 156 emeralds and cut them for level 34 Crafting. You can get up to 187K experience per hour doing this.
- Levels 34-43 Rubies: Get 355 rubies and cut them for level 43 Crafting. You can get up to 236K experience per hour doing this.
- Levels 43-55 Diamonds: Get 1082 diamonds and cut them for level 55 Crafting. You can get up to 298K experience per hour doing this.
- Levels 55-77 Dragonstones: Get 9520 dragonstones and cut them to reach level 77 Crafting. Doing this can get you up to 382K experience per hour.
Levels 77-99 Crafting Dragonhide Bodies

If you thought dragonstones are expensive you are not ready for this. This method is the fastest one you can do to get level 99 Crafting. Before we jump into the method you will need to know few things about crafting these dragonhide bodies:
- You can tick manipulate to craft dragonhide bodies a tick faster. You can do this by using a knife on a teak log on the same tick as using a needle on a leather. This will skip the initial crafting stall that your character will have but this is pretty sweaty considering we are getting level 99 Crafting.
- A much preferred way is to complete the Death on the Isle quest to receive a costume needle. This item removes the need for thread whilst crafting items. This allows us to craft 9 items per inventory rather than 8.
- To get the fastest experience rate, you should also consider setting up your bank to use the "deposit all" option to bank quickly. You should lock your bank so that this button will only deposit your crafted bodies.
If you decided on your method of choice, here is what you need to do:
- Levels 77-84 Red d'hide bodies: Using this method will cost us around 8.50 gold per experience, but you can get 394K experience using regular Crafting, 399K experience using a costume needle, and 408K experience using the 3 tick method, per hour.
- Levels 84-99 Black d'hide bodies: Using this method will cost us around 23 gold per experience, but we can get 435K experience using regular crafting, 440K experience using the costume needle, and 450K experience using the 3 tick method, per hour.
And that is it for the most efficient guide, simple and costly.
OSRS Cost-Effective Crafting Guide

In this part of the guide, we will examine the most reasonable ways to gain Crafting experience. We will focus on losing as little money as possible or even making a profit.
Levels 1-7 Leather Items
We will be doing leather items until we reach level 7.
- Levels 1-7 Leather Gloves: You will need to have 48 leather pieces to get to level 7
Levels 7-61/89/99 Bracelets
Bracelets are the most profitable item you can craft as you are training your Crafting level. Almost all bracelets will result in your profit. Also, if you can't sell them, you can always alch them for some Magic experience and profit.
- Levels 7-22 Gold Bracelets: Crafting gold bracelets can get you up to 40K experience per hour. You will also be getting around 5-6 GP profit per experience.
- Levels 22-23 Opal Bracelets: If you want the most efficiency, you can switch to opal bracelets for one level, which can get you up to 63K experience per hour. However, if you are lazy, you can keep doing golds. Opal bracelets can get you around 3-4 GP profit per experience.
- Levels 23-30 Sapphire Bracelets: These bracelets can get you up to 84K experience per hour and get you around 2-3 GP per experience profit.
- Levels 30-38 Emerald Bracelets: Crafting emerald bracelets can get you up to 91K experience per hour while also providing around 3-4 GP per experience profit.
- Levels 38-42 Topaz Bracelets: Crafting topaz bracelets can get you up to 105K experience per hour, and provide you with around 4 GP per experience profit.
- Levels 42-58 Ruby Bracelets: These bracelets can get you up to 112K experience per hour and can get you around 2-3 GP per experience profit.
- Levels 58-74 Diamond Bracelets: Crafting diamond bracelets can get you up to 133K experience per hour and can get you around 1-2 GP per experience profit.
- Levels 74-99 Dragonstone Bracelets: Crafting these bracelets can get you up to 154K experience per hour and around 2-3 GP per experience profit.
Levels 61-99 Superglass Make
If you don't want to stick to doing bracelets the entire way through, one of the other profitable Crafting training options is the superglass make spell. This spell is in the Lunar spellbook, which requires the completion of the quest Lunar Diplomacy. This spell also requires level 77 Magic to cast.
The method is pretty simple: equip a smoke battlestaff, have some astral runes in your inventory, and withdraw 3 giant seaweeds and 18 buckets of sand from your bank. Start casting the spell and watch the experience and cash roll in. The rates totally depend on how attentive you are to the game. You can expect to get around 108-153K Crafting experience per hour while also getting 46-66K Magic experience alongside it.
Levels 89-99 Crafting Amethyst Dart Tips
Our final method that can get you some sort of profit while having decent Crafting experience is the amethyst. This method is pretty simple: get a chisel and an inventory of amethyst and start cutting them into dart tips. These tips are always in demand due to high fletching experience rates and the toxic blowpipe. You can expect to get around 165K experience per hour alongside making 0.32 GP per experience profit.
OSRS Crafting Guide 1-99
This part of the guide will list almost all methods that you can do to level up your Crafting in a detailed, simple fashion.
Levels 1-20 Leather Items

We will start our journey from the most basic of basic resources: leather. As you will see, you have more options in level 1, but leather is an easily recommended choice!

Levels 1-83/99 Glassblowing

Another way you can kick off your crafting journey is by using Ironman's favorite: glassblowing. This method is better than leather in terms of AFKness and the experience in the early game. However, it might cost more than leather.
Crafting Level | Item | Materials | Experience | Experience per Hour |
1-4 | Beer glass | Molten glass | 17.5 | 30,625 |
4-12 | Empty candle lantern | Molten glass | 19 | 33,250 |

Levels 1-20 Spinning

Another method that you can do, especially if you are Ironman, is spinning items using a spinning wheel. This method is used by many at early levels, as you can easily pick up flax and harvest wool at the start of the game!
Crafting Level | Item | Materials | Experience |

Levels 1-34 Pottery

Another cheap and easily accessible method for early-level training is pottery! For this method, you'll need soft clay, which you can shape into various unfired products, earning some initial Crafting experience. Then, fire these items into their finished versions to gain even more Crafting experience! Which makes this an amazing method if you are a complete beginner.
Crafting Level | Item | Shaping | Firing | Total XP |
1 | Pot | Soft clay | Unfired pot | 12.6 |
7 | Pie dish | Soft clay | Unfired pie dish | 25 |

Cutting jewelry is one of the fastest and the simplest methods of training your Crafting, but it is costly compared to other methods. You can start doing this method as low as 1 Crafting, but you can actually only cut gems that you can crush in the early levels so we don't recommend using this method until level 20 where you unlock sapphires.
Crafting Level | Item | Materials | Experience | Crush Experience |
1 | Opal | Uncut opal | 15 | 3.8 |
