OSRS Leagues 5 Raging Echoes houses a lot of new interesting bosses and items. One of the most interesting items in the Leagues is the Dogsword which you can get from the Echo Cerberus. In this guide, we will go over every mechanic that this new boss has and explain in detail how it can be easily defeated.
Echo Cerberus
This boss cannot be fought early in your Leagues 5 journey as it requires level 91 Slayer and a hellhound task. This process can be quickened if you pick the Slayer Master relic. After fighting Cerberus a couple of times, you will receive its echo orb. If you have never slayed Cerberus, here is a quick guide on the boss.
Here are the requirements:
- Level 91 Slayer
- Tier 70+ Weapons (crush or stab weapon for Melee, and water spells for Magic)
- Level 43+ Prayer
- Decent food and potions
Echo Cerberus Strategy
Before fighting this echo boss, it is recommended that you either have total recall or the banker’s note. If you have total recall and the thunder khopesh from the Wilderness, this boss becomes a piece of cake and you will be able to kill it before its special attacks.
Attacks
Regular attack: Echo Cerberus uses magic to attack, so your Protect from Magic Prayer should always be on during the fight.
Lava pools: Every 4 attacks Echo Cerberus will growl and spit out permanent lava pools. These pools will spawn and go in your direction from two opposing angles. One simple way to counter this is to count the attacks and move back on the 4th attack to make the lava pools spawn away from Cerberus, so you can have more space to maneuver around the boss. If you don’t want to do this, you can simply reposition and move out of the way of the lava pools.
Ghosts: Just like the normal Cerberus, during the fight, Echo Cerberus will howl and spawn 3 sets of ghosts, so 9 in total. Don’t worry, unlike the normal variant of this boss, they don’t drain your prayer points. Just like the normal version, you will need to flick your prayer depending on their color to avoid taking damage.
- Blue ghost = Magic
- Green ghost = Ranged
- Red ghost = Melee
The hard part about this boss is the lava pools combined with the ghosts, as it can get difficult trying to dodge the pools while you are flicking your prayers, so make sure to be at full health when the ghosts spawn just in case.
Full Kill
- Drink your stat-boosting potions, turn on your protect from magic, and head into the arena for the boss fight.
- Start dealing damage to Echo Cerberus and count his attacks. When Cerberus performs his 4th attack, move back a couple of tiles, wait for the lava pools to spawn, and dodge them.
- Keep hitting Cerberus while maintaining this cycle.
- When you see Cerberus shouting “aaarrrroooooo,” eat up and get ready for the ghosts. Start prayer flicking for the ghosts and continue damaging Cerberus. Beware of the lava pools that can appear during this time and dodge them accordingly, as they can quickly kill your character.
