OSRS Leagues 5 Raging Echoes introduced us to 9 Echo bosses and none of them is as formidable as the Echo Sol Heredit. This boss holds the difficulty level of Grandmaster which no other monster alone holds. Not only are players looking forward to challenging their combat prowess within Runescape with this boss, but they are also looking to get their hands on one of the most powerful echo items in Leagues 5. There are two items that you can expect to get from this boss, the first one being the Sunlight Spear which is an incredible AOE weapon that scales off your Prayer, and the sunlit bracers which is a perfect glove slot item that doubles the effectiveness of heals on your character. Let’s look at how we can tackle this Grandmaster boss and get these items ourselves.

Echo Sol Heredit

This boss requires game knowledge and skill more than anything else but of course, good stats and gear are also a requirement as this boss contains mechanics that pretty much make it time-locked. What I mean by that is if you can’t kill this boss in a certain amount of time, you will be unable to keep fighting this boss as the arena will fill with damaging zones. The echo variant of Sol Heredit uses the same moves as the regular variant so you don’t need to learn any new footwork techniques to kill it. If you are new to the Colosseum and want to learn about what to do, you can check out our Colosseum Guide.

Here are the recommended stats for Echo Sol Heredit:

  • 90+ Combat stats in your selected combat style. Magic is not recommended due to the boss having an incredible Magic defense. Ranged works fine with the tier 6 mastery and melee works the best with Slash weapons followed by crush weapons.
  • 43+ Prayer for protection from melee
  • Banker’s note is recommended but not necessary. It will also be of great help if you are struggling with high-level PVM.
  • Decent food, Prayer potions, and combat boosting potions.
  • A ranged weapon or preferably AOE spells like the blood barrage.
  • A high-tier weapon. Scythe for melee is the best one and twisted bow for ranged.

If you have Wilderness you can kill this boss in less than 40 seconds without breaking a sweat, which we will cover in this guide. You can also do something similar if you have Morytania unlocked.

Echo Sol Heredit Strategy

Echo_Sol_Heredit_Fight_Overview

As mentioned before, this boss is at a Grandmaster level, so it is advisable to have max level stats alongside tier 8 relics for this boss. If not tier 8, at least tier 6 is highly recommended if you are doing a banker’s note build.

Mechanics

Regular Sol Attacks: These attacks are exactly the same as the regular variant of Sol. You will need to dodge the AOE spear and shield attacks. Flick your protection from melee Prayer at the right time, take off the piece of equipment Sol mentions, and so forth. If you want more information about these attacks, you can refer to our guide linked above.

Lasers: Just like the regular fight, Sol will have some blue crystals circling the arena, and they will shoot out lasers. At the beginning of the fight, there will only be two crystals, thus two lasers, but as the fight goes on, more crystals will spawn just like the Hunleff tornadoes. The maximum number of crystals that can spawn is 4. The lasers deal damage a few ticks after they have been launched, so you will have plenty of time to get out of the way. Obviously, this will get much harder when you factor in dodging the AOE attacks of Sol himself, so make sure you don’t forget what cycle you were on and where to move.

Damaging Pools: Unlike the regular Sol fight, these damaging pools will appear much faster and will stay forever on the ground. This mechanic makes this fight time-locked, as the longer it takes for you to kill Sol, the harder the fight is going to be, eventually becoming impossible.

Healing Totems: Periodically, Sol will spawn these healing totems that will start healing him after some ticks. This is where your Ranged weapon or blood barrage comes in. These totems will always get destroyed in one hit and will allow your character to attack super fast, meaning you can 1-tick all of the totems with a spell or a ranged weapon. These totems tend to spawn in clusters, so usage of AOE spells will allow you to kill them in packs and heal yourself. If you don’t have access to ancients, however, a short bow should do the job.

A Regular Full Kill

Echo_Sol_Heredit_Ranged_Strategy

In a regular kill, the best build that cheeses this fight is the Ranged one, as they can more freely move around and deal massive amounts of damage to Sol with ease.

  1. Pot up, put on your damage-boosting prayers, and head inside the area.
  2. Start hitting the boss and get ready to dodge its attacks according to what the boss uses.
  3. Dodge the crystals after they shoot out their blue lines to avoid taking damage.
  4. Dodge the damaging pools that appear on the ground and always try to move to an area where you can freely maneuver around.
  5. Use any relic to your advantage like the banker’s note or the last stand. You can use the last stand as a means of finishing the fight or taking a breather to avoid panicking.
  6. Kill the totems as soon as you can. They don’t heal him to full health instantly, so you don’t have to panic about killing them too fast.
  7. Continue repeating this cycle until you finish off the fight.

This is obviously a lot different than our other guides where you can abuse certain mechanics of the boss to get kills more easily. This is more like a skill check, but with the right build, you can even skip this boss.

Thunder Khopesh Cheese

Thunder_Khopesh_Cheese_Strategy

For this build, you will need to own the Thunder Khopesh and stack it with the best gear you have available to you. This path also benefits a lot from ancient magicks, so it is a good idea to opt into the grimoire relic. Lastly, for this cheese, you must have the Specialist relic; otherwise, it will not work at all.

Here is how it works:

  1. Drink your combat-boosting potions, turn on Piety, and enter the arena.
  2. Immediately special attack Sol-Heredit 5 times. Make sure you are also dodging his attacks as well.
  3. Special attacking with all your energy will immediately make Sol Heredit spawn healing totems.
  4. Equip a staff that can auto-cast ancient magicks and one-tick all the totems. This should give you enough energy to special attack 3 times. Doing so will summon more healing totems.
  5. You don’t have to kill all of them this time; kill enough to have 3 more special attacks, and just go ahead with your specs.
  6. This will finish the fight under 40 seconds.

Dharok Bombing

Dharok_Bombing_Strategy

This is not nearly as strong as the Khopesh build, but you can kill Sol Heredit pretty fast with level 6 melee combat mastery alongside full Dharoks with the gloves of the damned. This build also needs the last-stand relic just in case you mess up an attack. Be warned, however, this is much harder to pull off than a regular kill since a single mistake will kill your character.
