As you go about Gielinor, you'll eventually come across tons of Slayer task that hand out amazing rewards. One of the monsters you'll face on a Slayer task is the Fire Giants. If their name hasn't brought fear into you already, then you'll have to prepare for a strong fight ahead.
Fire Giants are significantly more powerful than other Giants in the game like the Ice, Moss, and Hill Giants. While they're very popular for training Ranged and Slayer skills, it's best to fight them with caution because they're no pushovers.

Fire Giant OSRS Strategy Guide
The good news is that Fire Giants are vulnerable to all types of combat. You can choose to use whichever you're more comfortable (or well-equipped) for. The problem with these monsters is that they hit relatively hard and can take a lot of damage. In most cases, it's better to take on them by using safespots. Luckily, almost all areas where Fire Giants can be fought has safespots.
Here are a few notes for some of the Fire Giants:
- Waterfall Dungeon and Brimhaven Dungeon: Some of the easiest giants mainly because they can be safespotted using Ranged, Magic, or a Halberd. The ones in the Waterfall Dungeon are particularly easy because there's a rock in the middle of the room that you can use as cover.
- Smoke Dungeon: This area can be quite bothersome as you'll need to have a facemask or slayer helm with you at all times. You can safespot one of the Fire Giants on the Fareed entrance side.
- Stronghold Slayer Cave: The Giants here are relatively easy to safespot but you'll need to have an active Slayer task before you can kill them. Not ideal for training your combat skills.
- Catacombs of Kouren and Giant's Den: While these Fire Giants are stronger than the other ones across OSRS, they're also more favored by players because of the extra Slayer XP they give. Additionally, you can also get dark totem pieces and ancient shards when fighting these.
If you're going to take on these stronger Fire Giants, we highly suggest going to the ones in the Catacombs of Kourend instead. There are multiple safespots to use and the best one is located along the eastern wall, near the Mutated Bloodvelds. There are also some located north of the lower level.
The Giant's Den Fire Giants are also made easier to deal with because of the fact that you can use the dwarf multicannon here. If you want to avoid the stronger level 109 Fire Giants, you can easily distinguish them as they have clubs in their hands.
- Deep Wilderness Dungeon - Given that you'll have to worry about player killers here, this area isn't recommended unless you want to do Wilderness Slayer.
- Karuulm Slayer Dungeon - If you want to safespot the Fire Giants here, move alongside the farthest north pocket and then start luring the giants to the east.
