Long Guide

Starting Out

Starting Out

Alright, let's get you started on rescuing the Servil family! First things first, you'll want to track down Lady Servil. She's hanging out near the northeast corner of Tree Gnome Village maze. If you've got 15 Fishing, you can use the Fishing Trawler teleport as a quick shortcut. Otherwise, grab an Ardougne cloak and run southwest from the monastery.

Lady Servil will tell you her family's been kidnapped by General Khazard - real pleasant fellow, right? After offering to help, head east to a cluster of buildings south of the monastery. Look for the northeastern house and search for some Khazard armor in the chest along the north wall.

Lady Servil

Here's a neat trick - you can actually grab multiple sets of armor using the drop method. Just drop your current set and search again. Might come in handy later!

Infiltrating the Prison

Infiltrating the Prison

Once you've got your disguise on, it's time to play pretend. The guards at the prison are... let's say "not the brightest torches in Gielinor." They'll let you waltz right in as long as you're wearing that Khazard armor. Just don't get cocky and take it off inside - they might not be smart, but they'll definitely notice that.

Inside, you'll need 5 coins and some patience. Look for Sammy Servil - he's the kid in the purple shirt in the northernmost cell. When you ask about the keys, he'll point you toward the guards.

Head to the southeastern corner where you'll find the Head Guard near the stairs. Talk to him and you'll discover he's got quite the thirst for Khali brew. In fact, he mentions he might just "fall asleep" if he has too much. Subtle hint there, wouldn't you say?

Tip: Make sure you chat with the guard before trying to buy the brew, or the bartender won't sell it to you.

The only place serving Khali brew is the bar west of the jail. Five coins will get you what you need. Take it back to our thirsty friend, and he'll happily hand over the keys before taking an impromptu nap.

The Battles

Khazard Ogre Battle

Now this is where things get interesting. You're about to face three fights in succession, but don't worry - they're all manageable with the right strategy.

First up is the Khazard Ogre (level 63):

  • The fight happens in an instance
  • Death will send your unprotected items to a grave outside
  • Can't use dwarven multicannon here
  • Easiest method: Lure it behind a skeleton and attack from range
  • Alternative: Turn on Protect from Melee and go toe-to-toe
  • If nothing happens, try talking to Justin (but be careful - this might spawn a second ogre!)

After dealing with the ogre, General Khazard shows up with a charming offer - become a fight slave or, well, you can guess the alternative. You'll end up in a cell either way. Chat with your cellmate Hengrad to continue the show.

Second comes the Khazard Scorpion (level 44):

  • Don't worry about poison - this one isn't venomous
  • Use the same safespot strategy as the ogre
  • Pretty straightforward fight overall

Then there's Bouncer (level 137):

Bouncer Battle
  • Don't underestimate this oversized hellhound
  • Safespot still works great
  • If meleeing, Protect from Melee is your best friend
  • Bring good food if you're not using protection prayers

Important note: If you forget any gear or run out of supplies, you can actually teleport out and come back. Just talk to the guard outside the prison when you return - they'll let you back into the arena.

The Final Showdown

After Bouncer falls, General Khazard (level 142) gets personal. Here's the thing though - you don't actually have to fight him! The Servils escape whether you take him on or not. You've got options:

  1. Fight him
    • Use the trusty skeleton safespot
    • Same strategies as previous fights apply
  2. Make a tactical retreat
    • Use the "Quick-escape" option on the door
    • Once you're out, he won't follow
    • Still complete the quest this way
