Magic Find Sorceress Build -D2R 2.7

47306 0

Do you want a build in D2R that can comfortably farm items in Hell Difficulty? If so, you definitely need to check out the Magic Find Sorceress.

In this guide, we will cover everything there is to know about this build. We will tell you why it is one of the best (if not the best) for farming endgame items and whatnot.

So, without further ado, this is our comprehensive guide for the Magic Find Sorceress in Diablo II: Resurrected!

Build Introduction

Before anything, Magic Finding (sometimes called "MF") is a term used to refer to builds or items that are primarily built for farming highly coveted items in D2R.

That said, the Sorceress is the fittest build for Magic Finding in Diablo II: Resurrected due to its great mobility and extremely fast movement provided by the teleport skill. This build is also capable of eliminating the forces of evil with ease because of the high amount of achievable elemental damage.

There are cheap and efficient MF gearing options available for the beginning of a new ladder season, so it's the best starter character if you are looking to farm and find gear. Baal or Chaos Sanctuary runs and Uber Tristram has several monsters with elemental immunities and monsters with very high damage output, so soloing these areas might be problematic.

This build's survivability can be boosted by wearing defensive items. However, this comes at the expense of reduced Magic Find %. The MF Sorceress can achieve 1,000% magic find within a reasonable budget and be efficient enough for solo MFing.

Gameplay

Attacking skills

Our primary skill for this build is Frozen Orb, though there are a couple of skills that can supplement the MF Sorc's boss-killing potential, such as Static Field and Glacial Spike. The former reduces the monster's life by a huge chunk, while the latter can be utilized when Frozen Orb is on cooldown.

When fighting against monsters that are immune to cold damage, you could put a Sunder Charm in your inventory specifically for that purpose.

In addition, Tele-stomping, a term that refers to teleporting directly on top of the intended target, can be used against solo monsters. This is because teleporting this way brings your Mercenary with you. But, this attacking strategy should be used carefully as you might die if it's done against high-damage monsters.

Movement

For the most part, you will be using Teleport to move around the map. This alleviates the need to run or walk, which is helpful from a survival standpoint.

Moreover, having a high Faster Cast Rate percentage (aka FCR) can help you get to bosses quickly. You should aim for the 63% FCR to reduce the frames needed to complete Teleport's animation by nine frames, or the 105% FCR (8-frame teleport) breakpoint in order to get to bosses like Mephisto, Andariel, or the Countess very quickly.

Survivability

The Magic Find Sorc's survivability is better than most Sorceress builds in D2:R. However, we still do not recommend that you play this build on Hardcore simply due to the fact that the Sorceress is a naturally squishy class, at least, when compared to the likes of the Barbarian or the Paladin.

The main difference between the MF Sorc compared to other Sorceress builds is that this one invests heavily in both Chilling Armor and Energy Shield; both of which greatly improve survivability.

To further enhance your chances of survival, you can utilize Call to Arms as your weapon swap to cast Battle Orders and Battle Command, which are highly beneficial if you want to live in the higher difficulty levels.

Party and Solo play

This build is primarily played solo to take advantage of its high Magic Find percentage. But, if you really want to play with your buddies, you have to coordinate with them to ensure that you land the killing blow. This is so that your higher MF % is applied, giving you and your group a much better chance of getting some highly coveted items.

Magic Find

The Magic Find Sorceress is the perfect build for MFing. If you are looking for a build that clears areas with high monster density, it's not the most effective choice, but if you want to farm bosses, it is the most effective choice. It is also the best MF character after a ladder season start.

Stats

  • Strength: Put just enough points on it to be able to wear your gear.
  • Dexterity: Only invest enough for specific items
  • Vitality: Put all remaining points on it.
  • Energy: Spend some if you want to maximize Energy Shield

Most of the builds in Diablo II: Resurrected will only have you spend enough points on both strength and dexterity until you satisfy the attribute requirements of the equipment you want to use. However, things are different for the Magic Find Sorceress.

For one, the amount of points that you allocate on strength actually depends on the Runeword you intend to use on the endgame. If you want to go for the Spirit Runeword, you need 156 STR in order to equip the Monarch Shield - the earliest shield that you can wear that has four sockets for the said RW.

Dexterity is another thing to keep in mind. You only need to spend however many points that your specific gear requires.

Now, the typical scenario for most builds in D2R is that you dump all of your remaining points on vitality to increase your HP pool. But, for this build, you can juggle things a little bit, where spending points on Energy is actually not a bad thing.

Energy raises your total mana, which is needed if you want to maximize Energy Shield. So, if you are using Energy Shield as a way to improve your survivability, then you will have to allocate a considerable amount of points on energy.

As to how much you should spend on energy, that really depends on what you want to achieve. Do you want more HP? Then put more vitality rather than energy. If you want to employ a more balanced approach, then put an equal amount of points on the said attributes.

Skills

  • 20 points on Frozen Orb
  • 20 points on Cold Mastery
  • 20 points on Ice Bolt
  • 20 points on Energy Shield
  • 2 points on Warmth
  • Put 1 skill point on the following:
    • Frozen Armor
    • Shiver Armor
    • Chilling Armor
    • Ice Blast
    • Glacial Spike
    • Frost Nova
    • Blizzard
    • Charged Bolt
    • Static Field
    • Lightning
    • Chain Lightning
    • Teleport
  • Dump your remaining points on Telekinesis

Frozen Orb is your main damaging ability. This prompts you to unleash an icy orb that travels a short distance. Upon arriving at its destination, a wave of ice bolts will damage nearby enemies, allowing you to slay multiple minions in the process.

While Frozen Orb is capable of deleting a plethora of monsters at once, the problem is that it has a 1-second cooldown. That may not mean much, but in terms of farming efficiency, that is a bit problematic. Fortunately, you have other skills at your disposal.

When Frozen Orb is on cooldown, you can use Glacial Spike for the time being to destroy any monster that is foolish enough to come your way.

If you are taking on tougher enemies or bosses, simply cast Static Field to reduce their HP by a huge percentage. Then, bombard them with a combination of Frozen Orbs and Glacial Spikes until they are dead.

For defenses, you have Energy Shield and Chilling Armor. As mentioned in the "Stats" section of this build guide, you can maximize Energy Shield by putting some points on energy. By activating Energy Shield, you should be fully aware that any damage you receive while it is up will reduce your mana before your life. To address this, you put a couple of points on Warmth to boost your mana regeneration rate significantly (this effect is further enhanced by any "+ to skills" modifier on your gear).

If you are wondering why your remaining points should be spent on Telekinesis, the answer is really simple: it has synergy with Energy Shield. For every point spent on Telekinesis, Energy Shield becomes more effective.

Having said that, you want to leave Telekinesis on 16 points for a 1:1 ratio of damage and mana loss. So, if you happen to receive 100 damage from a recent attack, your mana will be reduced by the same value as a result.

Breakpoints

Diablo II: Resurrected operates at 25 frames per second. By increasing certain bonuses through your gear, you are able to reduce the frames necessary for an action to complete.

For the Magic Find Sorceress, there are two breakpoints that you need to focus on: Faster Cast Rate (FCR) and Faster Hit Recovery (FHR).

Faster Cast Rate reduces the required frames to complete a certain spell. You need about 63% FCR to decrease the animation of Teleport (your main movement skill) and Frozen Orb (your primary attack skill) to just nine frames. If you want, you can go much higher and attain a 105% FCR to further reduce the animation frames to just eight, thereby allowing you to cast Teleport or Frozen Orb almost immediately after the last one.

How about Faster Hit Recovery? When you receive a considerable amount of damage, your character will undergo what is called the "hit stun animation," which renders you unable to move for a brief period. You want to decrease this downtime as much as you can in order to help you survive in the higher difficulty levels.

That being said, since you do not necessarily invest that much in FHR, at least aim for 42% (nine frames) or 60% (eight frames) Faster Hit Recovery.

If you want to learn more about this topic, be sure to check out our comprehensive Sorceress Breakpoints Guide.

Gearing

The Magic Find Sorc requires a bit of an investment to truly pull off. That is mainly due to the fact that you are fully investing in items that increase your Magic Find value. You can easily attain 300% MF, but if you can push that value even higher, then that would be much better!

The listed items are organized by slots.

  • The usefulness rating of an item is based on how good it is for farming.
  • The price rating reflects the cost of the item (cheaper ones are available after ladder starts as budget options), higher price ratings reflect exponentially higher costs for an item.
  • Magic Find ratings are added to items that are good options for MFing.

Adding sockets and improving your items

  • If you complete the Act 5 quest Siege on Harrogath, Larzuk will grant extra sockets to your items. Use the quest to add sockets to your gear and put useful jewels, runes, or gems in your item sockets.
  • You can also upgrade your unique items from normal to exceptional quality and from exceptional to elite by using Horadric Cube recipes. After upgrading, your armor pieces will have more defense, and your weapon pieces will have more damage. The downside of upgrading is the increased strength/dexterity requirements.
  • To increase your cold damage, put +5/-5 Cold Rainbow Facets in your item sockets.

Helm

  • Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest - usefulness 7/10, price 2/10, Magic find 7/10
  • Harlequin Crest Shako unique helm - Usefulness 8/10, price 6/10, Magic Find 10/10

Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest does not necessarily provide any MF on its own, but if you wear at least three pieces from the set, you will gain a 65% Magic Find as a result. This helmet itself is not bad at all, especially in terms of improving your survivability.

For starters, it grants you +60 life and +30 mana, so you already have a comfortable cushion against incoming damage. Having said that, you can mitigate the damage you receive thanks to a small increase in both defense and all-resists. And oh, did we mention that this thing gives you the ability to leech life and mana off of your enemies?

If you do not have the other pieces of the set just yet, you could grab a socketed Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest and insert an Ist rune for a 25% bonus to Magic Find.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img2

If you do not intend to wear at least three pieces of the Tal Rasha set, then you should go straight to wearing the Harlequin Crest.

The "Shako," as the D2R community calls it, grants a 50% increase in MF. It also provides other amazing bonuses, such as +2 to all skills, +148 to life/mana, and 10% damage reduction.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img3

Amulet

  • Tal Rasha's Adjudication - usefulness 7/10, price 6/10, Magic find 7/10
  • Magic amulet with 40-50% to magic find - price 5/10, Magic Find 10/10

Not all set pieces in Diablo II: Resurrected are worth wearing. However, Tal Rasha's Adjudication is one of the exceptions. This amulet is great because it raises the level of your skills by two. If you are not sold on that, this thing gives a boost to life, mana, and lightning resistance as well.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img4

There aren't a lot of options when it comes to the amulet specifically for Magic Find, but you could invest in a rare amulet with +2 to Sorc skills, FCR, and MF.

Buy Cheap D2R Runes

Weapon

  • Spirit Crystal Sword -usefulness 6/10, price 2/10
  • Wizardspike unique weapon - usefulness 6/10, price 4/10
  • Tal Rasha's Lidless Eye - usefulness 6/10, price 3/10, Magic Find 7/10
  • The Oculus unique weapon - usefulness 8/10, price 5/10
  • Heart of the Oak runeword - usefulness 10/10, price 6/10

Spirit is an incredible Runeword for the MF Sorc. It might not improve your Magic Find in any way, but it does contain modifiers that enhance the other aspects of the build, including +2 to all skills, 35% FCR, 55% FHR, and +8 magic absorption. It also increases your mana by a hefty amount, which is useful for Energy Shield. The runes necessary to create this Runeword, namely Tal, Thul, Ort, and Amn, are quite affordable, so you may want to obtain as many Crystal Swords as you can until you get the best possible rolls.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img6

Energy Shield is one of your important defensive layers. When you tackle more difficult content in Diablo II: Resurrected, you will sometimes find yourself in situations where you struggle to sustain mana when the said skill is active.

To address that, you can equip the Wizardspike. Just like the "Spirit" RW mentioned above, this weapon does not have any bonuses to Magic Find. However, what you get is a huge boost to your mana and mana regeneration rate, which are helpful in keeping your Energy Shield up.

That is not all! This weapon grants you a 50% Faster Cast Rate and +75 to all resistances. If you care about survivability, you might want to give the Wizardspike a try.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img7

Another piece from Tal Rasha's set, Tal Rasha's Lidless Eye is best known for raising the level of your elemental masteries by two. Its 20% FCR, +77 mana, and +57 life are definitely welcome bonuses!

If you want, you can add a couple of sockets and insert two Ist runes for additional Magic Find.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img8

The Uber Bosses in the game, such as Uber Baal and Uber Diablo, are considered demons. As such, if you want to take them down easily, you'd want to have the "+% damage to demons" modifier on your gear, wherever possible. Heart of the Oak is a Runeword that has that and then some.

Also known as HOTO, this RW contains a lot of interesting modifiers, including +3 to all skills, +40% FCR, and +40 all-resists. More importantly, it amplifies your damage against demons by 75%, which can aid you in defeating the Uber Bosses in D2:R.

If you are interested in the Heart of the Oak, grab a Flail with four sockets and then insert the following runes in order: Ko, Vex, Pul, and Thul.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img9

Now, the other weapons on this list are great in their own way, but nothing beats The Oculus as the best weapon for the MF Sorc. This weapon has everything that this build needs, such as +3 to sorc skill levels, +20 vitality/energy, and 50% Magic Find, among others.

There is a slight downside to this in that it has a considerable chance to teleport you to a random direction when you are hit. However, this is a very small compromise given the amount of value that The Oculus provides to the build.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img10

Shield

  • Lidless Wall - usefulness 5/10, price 2/10
  • Stormshield - usefulness 8/10, price 4/10
  • Spirit Monarch - usefulness 8/10, price 2/10

Upon closer inspection, you will find that the Lidless Wall does not contain any bonuses related to MF. That is because this shield is not meant for that; it is actually to improve your survivability through Energy Shield.

The good news is that you can add sockets to it by completing Larzuk's quest. Once you do, you can insert a couple of Ist runes for Magic Find or some Um runes to address the shield's lack of resistance bonuses.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img11

The vast majority of your time in Diablo II: Resurrected is spent farming items in Hell Difficulty. This is even more true when you are playing the Magic Find Sorceress. You might think that the monsters in the said difficulty level are easy to deal with, but that is actually not the case. If anything, they could easily destroy you, especially if you do not come prepared.

One of the things that you need to address before playing in Hell Difficulty is your resistance to certain damage types. You must attain at least the cap of 75% in order to mitigate as much incoming damage as possible.

Well, the Stormshield is an incredible shield specifically for that purpose. It is the only item in the game that grants a 35% reduction in damage, which helps improve your survivability immensely.

It also comes with other useful modifiers like increased defense, block chance, and faster block rate. Just like the Lidless Wall, you can add sockets to this thing so that you can insert Ist runes for Magic Find; that is if you are so inclined.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img12

The "Spirit" Runeword returns here; only this time, you will put the specific combination of runes mentioned above into a shield with four sockets. The earliest available shield that meets that requirement is the Monarch Shield. To be able to equip this thing, you must have 156 points allocated to strength.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img13

Switch Weapon

  • Call to Arms Runeword (keep it in inventory) - usefulness 10/10, price 7/10
  • Blade of Alibaba - magic find 6/10, price 3/10, switch when killing boss
  • Gull Dagger - magic find 7/10, price 3/10, switch when killing boss
  • 6*Ist crystal sword - magic find -10/10, switch when killing boss

In D2R, you can take advantage of weapon swaps to deal the final blow. This is so that any MF bonuses that you may have on your secondary weapon will be applied when you deal the last hit.

One weapon that is made for that is the Blade of Ali Baba. This thing is not used as a primary weapon due to its lack of FCR or "+ to all skills," but it makes up for its shortcomings by granting you a huge bonus to Magic Find. If you can add a couple more Ist runes, you will maximize this weapon's effect for sure!

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img14

Gull is an inexpensive dagger that grants you a whopping 100% MF. That is pretty much the noteworthy thing it provides. However, that is more than enough if you want the most affordable MF weapon in the game.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img15

If you want a switch weapon that gives you more than MF, then there is nothing better than Call to Arms. This is one of the most popular Runewords in the game, mainly because it allows you to increase your life, mana, and stamina via Battle Orders. This RW also grants you the ability to cast Battle Command to gain +1 to all skills for a limited period of time.

Anyway, grab yourself a five-socketed weapon and insert these runes in the exact order of appearance: Amn, Ral, Mal, Ist, and Ohm.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img16

Switch Shield

  • 4*Ist monarch - magic find 10/10, switch when killing boss
  • Spirit Monarch - usefulness 8/10, price 2/10
  • Rhyme - usefulness 6/10, price 2/10, Magic Find 5/10

Spirit is often used in conjunction with Call to Arms to amplify the bonuses granted by Battle Command and Battle Orders.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img17

If you are going to land the final hit on the monster by using the Blade of Ali Baba, then you might as well equip a shield to complement its Magic Find bonus. Rhyme is a Runeword that grants 25% MF and 50% extra gold from monsters. And the best part? The runes required to form this Runeword (Shael and Eth) are pretty affordable!

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img18

Body Armor

  • Wealth Runeword - usefulness 3/10, price 2/10, Magic Find 6/10
  • Tal Rasha's Guardianship - usefulness 6/10, price 6/10, Magic Find 7/10
  • Skullder's Ire - usefulness 6/10, price 5/10, Magic Find 10/10
  • Enigma - usefulness 7/10, price 8/10, Magic Find 10/10
  • Chains of Honor - usefulness 8/10, price 9/10, Magic Find 4/10

There are several body armors that provide increases in Magic Find, so let's start with the budget option which is aptly named Wealth. This Runeword does not give a whole lot in terms of stats and attributes, but what it does bring to the table is a huge increase in Magic Find and gold from monsters. Grab a body armor with three sockets and insert the Lem, Ko, and Tir runes if you are interested in this one.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img19

This next body armor is actually one of the best in terms of satisfying both survivability and your knack for finding some pretty awesome loot. We are talking about Skullder's Ire - a unique armor that gives you up to 123% better chance of getting magic items.

Aside from that, this thing can grant up to 200% Enhanced Defense, +1 to all skills, and slight magic damage reduction, which is all great from a survival standpoint.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img20

If you like wearing other pieces of Tal Rasha's set, then there is no better body armor for the MF Sorceress than Tal Rasha's Guardianship. This is regarded by many as the best-in-slot in terms of providing you with a Magic Find bonus, increased all-resists, and magic damage reduction. When you wear another piece from Tal Rasha's set, you gain 10% Faster Cast Rate as well, which can help you achieve one of the FCR breakpoints mentioned earlier.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img21

Enigma is a very popular body armor even for non-MF builds. That is because this Runeword grants the teleport skill when equipped. Since you are already a Sorceress with access to the said skill, you do not need Enigma for that. But, you do need this RW for its 99% Magic Find and +2 to all skills.

In addition, Enigma bolsters your defense in a unique way. How? Well, 15% of the damage you receive will go to mana. And, since you have Energy Shield activated, the mana that is given to you by Enigma's unique effect enables you to take more hits as a result.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img22

Chains of Honor only grants a small boost in MF, but it does make up for it by improving the other aspects of your build. For instance, this thing greatly enhances your damage against demons and undead monsters. Besides that, you gain an additional 8% damage reduction and a 65-point increase in all resistances!

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img23

Belt

  • Tal Rasha's Fine-Spun Cloth - usefulness 7/10, price 3/10
  • Goldwrap unique belt - magic find 10/10, price 3/10

When it comes to MF-boosting items, there are only a couple of viable options for the belt slot. The first is Tal Rasha's Fine-Spun Cloth. On the surface, you might scoff at its measly 15% boost to Magic Find, but because it is part of a set, you can add a couple more to get +65% MF!

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img24

If you care about getting as much gold as you possibly can, then the Goldwrap is indeed a worthy alternative to Tal Rasha's Fine-Spun Cloth. This belt allows you to gain up to 80% extra gold from monsters, and its hefty 30% boost to MF ensures that you are getting your money's worth when you equip the Goldwrap.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img25

Rings

  • Nagelring - magic find 9/10, price 3/10
  • Magic rings with 40% MF - magic find 10/10, price 6/10

Normally, we would recommend that you wear the Raven Frost on one of your ring slots just so that you are immune to being frozen. But, if you absolutely want to focus on increasing your Magic Find stat as high as possible, then here are our recommendations:

The Nagelring is a budget option that can grant up to a 30% boost in MF. If you want to maximize your rings, make sure to grab a Nagelring with a perfect Magic Find roll to make it count.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img26

You can also invest in a Fortuitous Ring of Fortune, which can roll as high as 40% MF if you are lucky!

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img27

Gloves

  • Chance guards unique gloves - magic find 10/10, price 3/10

The only gloves that you are going to wear for the Magic Find Sorceress are a pair that actually provides you with what you are looking for. The Chance Guards enables you to get 200% extra gold from monsters.

However, the reason why you are going to wear the Chance Guards is for its MF. Invest some high runes into this so that you can grab these gloves with a perfectly rolled Magic Find value of 40%.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img28

Boots

  • War Traveler unique boots - usefulness 6/10, price 5/10, magic find 10/10

There are only a handful of items in the game that provide you a ton of value and the War Traveler is definitely one of them. This thing sorts out your defenses, but its main selling point is the 50% MF on a well-rolled pair of these boots.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img29

Charms

  • Annihilus unique charm - usefulness 10/10, price 8/10
  • Hellfire Torch unique charm - usefulness 10/10, price 6/10
  • Gheed's Fortune unique charm - magic find 10/10, price 4/10
  • Cold Rupture Sunder Charm - usefulness 10/10, price 7/10
  • 7% to magic find magic small charms - magic find 10/10, price 3/10

The first four charms on the list above are a staple in many builds in Diablo II: Resurrected. Annihilus is a small charm that raises your skill levels by one, increases your attributes by 20, and your all resistances by the same amount.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img30

The Hellfire Torch is another common fixture as far as unique charms in D2R are concerned. This thing does not have any Magic Find whatsoever, but you are still adding this to your inventory primarily for that +3 to Sorceress Skill Levels.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img31

Because this guide is about the Magic Find Sorceress, you will find great value in Gheed's Fortune. This Grand Charm increases the extra gold you gain from slaying monsters by up to 160%. Additionally, you get up to 40% MF simply by putting this in your bag.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img32

Sunder Charms are a new type of charm in D2: R that lets you deal with monsters that have a natural immunity to certain damage types. Since you are mainly dealing cold damage, then you should add Cold Rupture to your inventory as well.

It is important to keep in mind that Cold Rupture also decreases your resistance to the same damage type as the one the charm has sundered. Therefore, you have to address your cold resistance on your other pieces of gear in order to survive in Hell Difficulty.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img33

With all of the above charms out of the way, the rest of your inventory should be populated with small charms that grant a 7% Magic Find bonus.

Mercenary

Have a Normal Act 2 Combat or Defensive Mercenary (Prayer Aura or Defiance aura) to provide you with mana and life regeneration, or additional defense.

Ethereal items don't lose durability if your mercenary wears them, so having ethereal item bases for each gear slot is preferred due to their increased defense on armor items and increased damage on weapons. In many instances, ethereal items that are great for mercenaries will be much more expensive than non-ethereal ones.

Mercenary gear

Helms

  • Any 3-socketed helm with 3 perfect diamonds to increase mercenary resistances and survivability - usefulness 5/10, price 1/10
  • Vampire Gaze unique helm - usefulness 7/10, price 4/10
  • Guillaume's face set helm - usefulness 8/10, price 4/10
  • Andariel's Visage unique helm - usefulness 10/10, price 5/10

Magic Find bonuses that are found in items that your Mercenary wears do not affect you in any way. However, any MF on your gear does apply to them, so if you truly want to maximize it, have your Mercenary deal the killing blow.

Anyway, our item recommendations for the Merc are primarily to help them survive in the higher difficulty levels in D2R. That said, Vampire Gaze is an incredible helmet that offers life leech, damage reduction, and magic damage mitigation, among others.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img34

GFace, as it is called in the community, is another staple gear for the Desert Mercenary. Its main draw is granting the ability for your Merc to land either a Deadly Strike or Crushing Blow. This aids in clearing the map of monsters.

magic_find_sorceress_build_beginner_friendly_img35

If you have seen our other D2R guides, you will find Andariel's Visage recommended numerous times. That is because this thing is one of the best helmets that your Merc can wear.

It grants a considerable life leech, which helps your Merc survive better in the endgame. Furthermore, it is one of the only helmets in the game that grants increased attack speed and about 20% at that.

Weapons

  • Insight runeword to provide you with meditation aura so you never run out of mana - preferably in elite base - usefulness 7/10, price 4/10
  • Infinity runeword - usefulness 7/10, price 8/10

The choice of weapon for your Mercenary entirely depends on which aura you want to have. If you want to bolster your defenses with Energy Shield, then you will find incredible value in Insight.

Insight is a Runeword that grants the Meditation Aura - a Paladin-exclusive skill that significantly increases your mana regeneration rate. Insight requires the Ral, Tir, Tal, and Sol runes to be socketed in the exact order.

If you want to make your Frozen Orb or Glacial Spike become even more devastating, then have your Mercenary use Infinity. This is a Runeword that grants the Conviction Aura, which reduces the elemental resistance of nearby monsters.

Body Armor

  • Treachery runeword - usefulness 9/10, price 4/10
  • Fortitude runeword - usefulness 10/10, price 7/10

Treachery is actually not bad given the overall theme of the build. Although this Runeword does not give your Merc an MF bonus, it does grant 50% extra gold from slain monsters. And oh, you do want this for that huge 45% increase in attack speed. This turns your Mercenary into a potent killing machine.

To create the Runeword, you have to insert the Shael, Thul, and Lem runes into a three-socketed body armor.

Of course, in terms of raw power, nothing can beat Fortitude. This is popular for its +300% Enhanced Damage. When coupled with the "Insight" Runeword mentioned earlier, enemies will flee in fear at the mere sight of your Mercenary!

Conclusion

Among all of the builds in Diablo II: Resurrected, the Magic Find Sorceress is one of the best in terms of getting your hands on some highly coveted items.

It has a rather easy playstyle, where you use the Teleport skill to move around the map in search of huge packs of monsters. Blast them to oblivion with a well-placed Frozen Orb and finish off anything that survives the initial skill with Glacial Spike.

Although the Sorceress is not known for its impressive survivability, this build has enough defenses to help you survive in Hell Difficulty. This is thanks to the combination of a high mana pool, Energy Shield, and Chilling Armor.

Now, the main selling point of the MF Sorc is that it can achieve upwards of 300% Magic Find, though that requires heavy investment to pull off. If you want to attain that without farming the necessary items yourself, then we highly recommend that you visit our store!

Rpgstash.com will have D2R items in its Ladder selection already on day 1. We will be doing our best to let you buy ladder items right at the beginning of the season including the new runewords, so you can climb the ladder rankings as fast as possible!
