How to get to Varlamore in Old School RuneScape!

One of the biggest content updates to Old School RuneScape, Varlamore is a large area expansion that introduces new PvM content, skilling methods, quests, and exciting rewards. Accessible after completing the “Children of the Sun” quest, the Kingdom of Varlamore has a few major regions with their own transportation methods.

Speaking of which, reaching Varlamore directly can be a bit confusing when you first unlock the kingdom. However, there are several ways to reach Varlamore and its cities from anywhere else in Old School RuneScape!

Getting To Varlamore In Old School RuneScape

Varlamore is first unlocked after completing the “Children of the Sun” quest, which introduces players to several notable citizens of Civitas illa Fortis (the capital city) and sets up the plot for several other quests. This short novice-level quest can be started in Varrock Square and completed in an average of five minutes.

Once you complete the quest, go to the east gate of Varrock, where you can find Regulus Cento and his quetzal to fly directly to Varlamore.

When you visit Varlamore for the first time via Regulus Cento, you can use other transportation methods to travel to/around Varlamore.

Using The Quetzal Transportation System

After completing the “Twilight’s Promise” quest, you can utilize the Quetzal Transportation System to transport around Varlamore.

This system uses a quetzal to fly to eight different landing sites around Varlamore. Four of these locations require you to have visited and built them with Quetzal Feed (10), Limestone Brick (3), and Soft Clay (4).

Using the “Civitas illa Fortis” Teleport Spell

Along with getting your quetzal after completing the “Twilight’s Promise” quest, you will be able to use the “Civitas illa Fortis Teleport” spell in the standard spellbook to teleport directly to the capital city.

The spell also requires 54 Magic, 1 Earth, 1 Fire, and 2 Law Runes to cast.

Using A Fairy Ring

The Fairy Ring Transportation System is available after partially completing the “Fairytale Part II—Cure a Queen” quest. It is one of the most versatile teleportation methods in Old School RuneScape and can reach nearly every major area in Gielinor.

By using Fairy Ring Code AJP, you can reach the fairy ring south of Civitas illa Fortis.

Reaching Varlamore with a Charter Ship

Charter ships can be found in all the major ports of Old School RuneScape and can also be used to reach Civitas illa Fortis or the Sunset Coast ports.

The cost to reach each port depends on where you are sailing from. However, the price can range between 250gp and 3200gp.

Teleporting to the Fortis Colosseum

The Fortis Colosseum, a challenging PvM activity in the capital city, can be reached with a Ring of Dueling. But you will need to unlock the ability to do so first.

Participating in the Fortis Colosseum will earn you glory and unlock several possible rewards. Once you reach 12,000 Glory, you can use a Ring of Dueling to teleport to the Fortis Colosseum.

Hunter’s Guild Teleportation

The Hunter’s Guild in Varlamore has several teleportation unlocks you can earn.

You can make and use quetzal whistles once you have completed ten Hunters’ Rumours (general “Slayer Tasks” but for the Hunter skill). Quetzal Whistles can summon your quetzal and fly directly to the Hunter’s Guild.

For players with 99 Hunter, you can talk to Guildmaster Apatura at the Hunter’s Guild to give your Hunter Skillcape the ability to teleport directly to the guild.
