Diablo 4 Support Druid Endgame Build Guide

5789 0

Out of all the games in the series, Diablo 4 is undoubtedly the best when it comes to online cooperative play. Aside from the fact that it’s so easy to hop into a party, it’s also very possible to have a build that’s dedicated to group play.

If you love the Druid and often see yourself playing with friends, then this build is going to be a treat for you. This Diablo 4 Druid endgame build is dedicated to giving you and the team buffs that will help you withstand the toughest challenges in Sanctuary after you beat the game. There aren’t a lot of support builds in the game so you can impress your friends with this.

The Nature’s Guardian Build

Aside from creating the ultimate team player in Diablo 4, what’s great about this build is that it doesn’t require a lot of effort to make. You can get the most out of it, even if you just get the right Caged Hearts for this build. As for Aspects, you’ll only need some of the Codex of Powers acquired from the dungeons in the game.

This build works perfectly well with glass cannon classes like the Sorcerer and Rogue. With it, you’ll be a walking Nature’s Guardian, allowing your teammates to survive the toughest challenges as you cast support from the backline… or the frontline if you prefer.

To get you started, make sure to grind for these Caged Hearts first. It’s the most crucial part of this build.

Caged Hearts

  1. Caged Heart of Inexorable Force

Effect: Up to [30 - 50] Distant enemies are pulled toward you while you have an Ultimate Skill active. (Druid Only)

This is going to be a very helpful Caged Heart on your end. Its main purpose is to pull out enemies that are harassing the squishy members of your team. By pulling them away, you get to defend them, while giving them more opportunities to do damage to the enemies.

  1. Caged Heart of Revenge

Effect: [10.0 - 20.0]% of incoming damage is instead suppressed. When you use a Defensive, Subterfuge, or a Macabre skill, all suppressed damage is amplified by 250%[x] and explodes, dealing up to [200 - 42,340] Fire damage to Nearby enemies.

This helps your Druid become more durable. As a support, you’ll need to be up most of the time to make sure that you’re there to help out your teammates. Caged Heart of Revenge is an excellent attachment that doesn’t just make you more durable, it goes a long way when it comes to crowd control too.

  1. Caged Heart of the Prudent Heart

Effect: You become Immune for [2.0 - 4.0] seconds after you lose more than 20% Life in a single hit. This effect can only occur once every 100 seconds.

This is another amazing Caged Heart that will help you defensively. Trust us when we say that there are lots of Elites and bosses in the endgame that can take you out in a single shot. Prudent Heart ensures that you can’t be one-hit by enemies

Spirit Boons

Of course, your Spirit Boon setup is going to be important for this

  • Deer Spirit - Wariness

Effect: Take 10% reduced damage from Elites.

  • Eagle Spirit - Iron Feather

Effect: Gain 14% Maximum Life.

  • Snake Spirit - Calm Before The Storm

Effect: Lucky Hit: Nature Skills have a 10% chance to reduce the cooldown of your Ultimate ability by 2 seconds.

  • Wolf Spirit - Bolster

Effect: Fortify for 15% of your Maximum Life when you use a Defensive Skill.

  • Wolf Spirit - Calamity

Effect: Extend the duration of all Ultimate Skills by 25%.

The majority of the Spirit Boons we will take will increase your durability. Those include Wariness, Iron Feather, and Bolster. These are going to be important as it amplifies your uptime and survivability heavily so you can support your teammates more.

This build is going to be Skill heavy so you’ll need cooldown bonuses. For that, we’re going to rely on Calm Before the Storm.

Lastly, you should bond with the Wolf Spirit so that you can get Calamity. This maximizes your Ultimate Skill duration by a huge margin. You’re going to find out why this is important later on.

Skill Point Allocation

  1. Storm Strike - 3 Skill Points

Upgrades: Enhanced Storm Strike, Fierce Storm Strike

You’re going to need self-sustain for this build and we’re going to get that with Storm Strike. It can reduce incoming enemy damage on hit which will be very useful. If you have the Aspect of Might, it can also be used to apply Vulnerable easily to enemy targets. In most cases though, this will just be a means to increase your Spirit.

  1. Predatory Instinct - 1 Skill Point

Only needed to gain access to the next skill. Helpful but don’t upgrade it further as you won’t be the main damage dealer in the party.

  1. Iron Fur - 3 Skill Points

This is one of your first of many upgrades to help improve your line of defense. Most of the Skills you’ll be using on this build will put you in your Werebear form so you can take full advantage of this passive ability quite easily.

  1. Earthen Bulwark - 7 Skill Points

Upgrades: Enhanced Earthen Bulwark, Preserving Earthen Bulwark

Since you’ll be the support for the team, most of your abilities are going to come from the Defensive Skill tree. The first of which is Earthen Bulwark.

The upgrades we’re getting for Earthen Bulwark will make you a force to be reckoned with when it comes to defenses. Aside from a Barrier. You can also snag a hefty Barrier bonus upgrade when using this amazing ability. It’s mostly going to be used as a means of engagement.

  1. Cyclone Armor - 7 Skill Points

Upgrades: Enhanced Cyclone Armor, Preserving Cyclone Armor

Cyclone Armor is good on its own already. Its ability to push back enemies is seriously underrated in our opinion. You can use this to push enemies off of your allies in combat.

If you have the Cyclonic Force Aspect, you can even give the effects of this Skill to your allies whenever you cast it.

  1. Blood Howl - 3 Skill Points

Upgrades: Enhanced Blood Howl, Preserving Blood Howl

Blood Howl will be a great source of healing for your allies as long as you have the Nighthowler’s Aspect which luckily is acquired from a dungeon. Aside from that, Blood Howl can also give your allies a sizable boost in attack speed. Make sure to get Nighthowler’s Aspect as the healing from Blood Howl is crucial for this build.

  1. Debilitating Roar - 7 Skill Points

Upgrades: Enhanced Debilitating Roarl, Innate Debilitating Roar

Out of all your Defensive Skills, Debilitating Roar is going to be the star of it all. It can greatly reduce the damage you and your friends receive from enemies. With its massive AoE, you can even slow down almost every enemy on your screen whenever you use this skill.

The cooldown is a bit long but most of the upgrades we’ve chosen for this build will help solve that problem.

  1. Ancestral Fortitude - 3 Skill Points

This greatly adds to the defenses that you might lack as a Druid. With many enemies dealing mostly non-physical attacks, you can greatly reduce the damage you take. Your physical defenses are going to come from your other skills such as Earthen Bulwark.

  1. Vigilance - 3 Skill Points

You’ll have access to all four of the Druid’s Defensive Skills. That said, this only means that you’re going to get a ton of Damage Reduction bonuses whenever you and your team engage the enemy.

  1. Elemental Exposure - 3 Skill Points

As stated earlier, Storm Strike is going to be your main source of Vulnerable and that’s going to be because of this passive.

  1. Petrify - 3 Skill Points

Upgrades - Prime Petrify, Supreme Petrify

We’re going to pick Petrify as an Ultimate Skill because it has so many purposes compared to our other choices. To put it simply, it’s a large AoE Stun that with the right upgrades, can last for 5 seconds. You can use it to engage, escape, or kill off mobs around the area. Supreme Petrify is also an excellent source of Spirit.

  1. Defensive Posture - 3 Skill Points

This greatly increases the Fortify you receive from all sources. That’s going to be a good thing as there are a lot of chances to activate Fortify with this build. Overall, this is one of the core passives to boost your defenses with.

  1. Unrestrained - 1 Skill Point

Unrestrained can make Petrify last even longer if you have Fortify at high levels. If you don’t think Supreme Petrify is useful for you, you can take that point off and move it here instead.

  1. Nature’s Resolve - 3 Skill Points

This is going to be one of the major sources of Fortify for this build. Since you’ll have to tank the enemies for your teammates, Nature’s Resolve can trigger many times and help you out in dire situations.

  1. Quickshift - 1 Skill Point

Only needed to gain access to the next passive.

  1. Heightened Senses - 3 Skill Points

Heightened Senses will provide even more Damage Reduction but this time, it’s going to be focused on Elites. A lot of the Elites you’ll face in the endgame are dangerous and the added defense you get here is going to be very helpful in many scenarios.

  1. Fortitude - 3 Skill Points

With the Druid constantly shifting forms, Fortitude is going to activate most of the time so you’ll have a constant source of Fortify as well. With this, you’re hard to kill. More monsters will attack you and you’ll be able to restrain them easily. Meanwhile, it’s up to your teammates to do the damage.

  1. Ursine Strength - 1 Skill Point

The choice for the Key Passive boils down to this and Nature’s Fury. Ultimately, we decided to use Ursin Strength for this build as it adds even more durability on your end. With it, you’ll be harder to kill as long as you stay active in using skills.

Gameplay

Keep in mind that this is a support build so gameplay is going to be different from your run-of-the-mill Diablo 4 build.

When you’re about to engage the enemy, you need to use Storm Strike, even if you don’t hit anything. Even without a target, you can already activate Might which can last for a few seconds. Additionally, you’ll get damage reduction bonuses by doing this as well.

Once you and your party are finally engaged in combat, you’ll need to use Earthen Bulwark for its Unstoppable effect and the Barrier it provides. This will help you and your team sustain a ton of damage.

While you’re at a safe distance, make sure to cast Debilitating Roar which can help slow down enemies and reduce their damage. Don’t worry too much about whether you’re using the ability too far as it has a decent range. With the buffs for your team and the debuffs on the enemy, your team should start wailing on the enemy with their best attacks.

When your teammates are out of skills, you can use Enhanced Blood Howl for its bonus to Cooldown Recovery, which procs for each enemy you kill.

Aspects

For this build, make sure that you get these Aspects first as they’re going to make up a huge chunk of the benefits you get from equipment.

  • ‍Aspect of Audacity from Chapter 1 of the Seasonal Journey.

  • ‍Aspect of Cyclonic Force in Collapsed Vault (Kehjistan)

  • ‍Aspect of Mending Stone in Sealed Archives (Dry Steppes)

  • ‍Aspect of Retribution in Abandoned Mineworks (Kehjistan - Injured variant)

  • ‍Nighthowler's Aspect in Forbidden City (Fractured Peaks)

  • ‍Rapid Aspect in Buried Halls (Dry Steppes)

It’s not exactly necessary but if you want to further improve the performance of this build and if you want to provide even more support to your teammates, you need to get the following Aspects too.

  • ‍Aspect of Might

  • ‍Exploiter's Aspect

  • ‍Ghostwalker Aspect (Speedfarming variant)

  • ‍Smiting Aspect

  • ‍Symbiotic Aspect

Unfortunately, these aren’t collected from Codex of Powers. You’ll have to do a bit of grinding to get them. We’ve found that the best way to farm for these gears is to do World Events. You can eventually trade your Obols for even more loot which could contain these Aspects. Again, these aren’t necessary but it will go a long way in making this build work.

The Guardian of Nature, Walks

It’s probably going to feel weird using this support build, especially if you’ve been used to becoming an all-out offensive Druid in Diablo 4. It’s always better to play with friends anyway so you should really consider trying this out. Aside from being a good build, we’re sure that your friends are going to love the effort you put into being a support.
