One of the most vital resources in Diablo 4 is gold. It’s used for many things such as upgrading your gear, buying goods, and most importantly, resetting your Skill Tree when you want to try out a new build. Gold is actually very easy to come by in Sanctuary.
Slay monsters, do quests, sell excess loot - there’s a myriad of ways to start becoming a millionaire in Diablo 4. However, you’ll need to work hard and be smart actually to get the gold you need.
Gold might seem like a trivial matter in the game at the early stages but eventually, you’ll realize that becoming rich isn’t easy. Here’s a guide to teach you the ins and outs of becoming a rich man in Sanctuary.
Complete The Campaign
If you’re running out of money in the early parts of the game, one way to increase your gold fast is by going through Diablo 4’s campaign. Out of all the quests in the game, you can expect the biggest payouts from the game’s main campaign.
Starting from Act IV, most of the quest rewards are dependent on your level. This means that if you do the main quest at a high level, expect to get more Gold as well. The ultimate goal is to, of course, beat Lilith and save Sanctuary.
Beating the main campaign gives you the opportunity to increase your World Tier once you beat the Capstone Dungeons. Once you do get to the higher difficulties in the game, you’re going to get more Gold with each monster you kill. You’ll also get better gear that you can sell for even more Gold.
Keep in mind that with each increase in your World Tier, you’re also getting a 15% increase in Gold drops and XP.
Target Specific Dungeons
With so many Dungeons in the game, it can be so hard to pick which of them is best for farming Gold. Lucky for you, we’ve found the best places where you can farm for Gold in Diablo 4.
Uldur’s Cave
One of the best Gold farm dungeons in the game right now is Uldur’s Cave in Kehjistan. You’ll have access to this a little later in the game though due to the fact that it’s far from Fractured Peaks.
Many players claim that this is the best Gold farm in the game right now. In fact, the only problems you’ll face inside this dungeon are the bees and chargers as they can overwhelm you quickly. Just make sure to thin out the horde and you’ll be safe.
Your first task is to destroy the three barricades located in the area. Once done, you’ll need to defeat all of the enemies in the Bandit Hideout. Doing this will reward you with a ton of Gold. The only Elite enemy in the area is the Ringleader who is pretty easy to beat too.
Thanks to its easy mobs and easy tasks, Uldur’s Cave is a quick way to earn money in Diablo 4. For extra gold, sell all of the loot you get while doing this dungeon.
Forsaken Quarry
If you want a Gold farm that’s near the starting area, then you’re definitely going to want to visit the Forsaken Quarry in Fractured Peaks.
One of the reasons why this is a favorite for Diablo 4 Gold farmers is that the dungeon’s mob density is very generous. You’re tasked with clearing out areas filled with Ice Clan Members who aren’t hard to deal with. Just make sure that you avoid getting Chilled constantly as they can easily swarm you once that happens.
Champion’s Demise
Champion’s Demise is located in Dry Steppes. Like Forsaken Quarry, what makes this dungeon extra special is that it holds a ton of enemies. The dungeon itself is a lot bigger compared to Forsaken Quarry though and that’s a good thing since you’ll have more space to move in.
The dungeon will task you with clearing out enemies again and again. Thanks to the density of the area, you can get a ton of Gold and even more loot to sell later on.
Guulrahn Canals
Located within Dry Steppes again is the Guulrahn Canals. This large dungeon is filled to the brim with spiders and zombies. The real threat is the poison you can get from the spider enemies but aside from that, this should be a walk in the park, especially if you’re focused on Gold farming.
What’s great about the Guulrahn Canals is that you can also get a huge amount of XP while farming in this area. It’s a good area to start grinding for if you’re lacking the strength to beat the first Capstone Dungeon to increase your level.
Iron Hold
The Iron Hold gives you a steady stream of demons to defeat which is a good thing for Gold farming. Aside from the Gold, you’re getting a ton of loot too. What makes this place extra special is that in one part, you’ll be tasked with surviving a horde of enemies too.
Tasks like that are a good means to get more loot and Gold in the game. Since the dungeon itself is pretty cramped, make sure to move around often so that you don’t get overwhelmed by the enemies inside. If you’re having trouble, get any demon-slaying Elixirs to help you out.
Sell Gear
One of the easiest ways to make money in Diablo 4 is simply by selling your gear. A piece of Legendary Gear alone can net you over 100,000 Gold. Understandably, you might not want to do this and opt for salvaging your gear for those important crafting materials instead. However, if you’re really in need of Gold, selling it is the best way to go.
The good news is, you’re going to get a ton of great drops once you increase your World Tier. That means you won’t have a shortage of gear to sell or salvage.
Do Side Quests
There are a total of 213 side quests in Diablo 4 and yes, each of them rewards you with Gold upon finish. Doing the side quests in Diablo 4 rewards you with loot, Renown, and a ton of gear too. It also helps that you’re getting a good story on the side.
Many of the quests will reward you with Gold depending on your level, just like in the main campaign. Just take your pick from the wealth of people in need in Sanctuary. In time, you’re going to be a millionaire just by helping people out.
Increase Your Renown
The Renown system in Diablo 4 is arguably one of the things that you should focus on in the game. The rewards are plenty. Here is the reward per tier:
Tier 1: Bonus XP, 3,000 Gold, one Skill Point
Tier 2: Bonus XP, 10,000 Gold, one Potion Capacity
Tier 3: Bonus XP, 25,000 Gold, one Skill Point
Tier 4: Bonus XP, 60,000 Gold, 80 Max Obols
Tier 5: Bonus XP, 150,000 Gold, 4 Paragon Points
Aside from the Skill Points, Paragon Points, and Obol and Potion Capacity, you’re also going to get 248,000 Gold per region for completing the Tier 5 Renown. That’s a total of 1,240,000 Gold for all five regions. There are various ways to increase your Renown.
Waypoints: 20 Renown per
Strongholds: 100 Renown per
Side Quests: 20 Renown per
Areas Discovered: 5 Renown per
Side Dungeons: 30 Renown per first completion
Altars of Lilith: 10 Renown per Altar
For the purpose of making money, you should focus on doing side quests and side dungeons. These are the most rewarding activities for getting more money in the game. If you’re struggling to get to the upper tiers of rewards, consider doing the Strongholds, Altars of Lilith, and Waypoints next.
Become A Rich Man In Sanctuary
Having a ton of money in Diablo 4 is very important, especially in the latter stages of the game. You can’t keep trying out new builds if you lack the Gold to reset your Skill Tree with. Hopefully, these tips above will make sure that you’re going to get your bags full after a few hours in the game.
