Finding FC 25 best players is a tough and expensive ordeal. If you’re building the best lineup for your Ultimate Team, then you’ll need all the help you can get.
We’ve got you covered with affordable FC 25 coins at our store. Now, if you want to know which players to look for specifically, we’ve got this guide for you.
FC 25 Best Players Per Position
The whole point of this guide is to go through our top five players in each position under 100K. Not a single card in this list will exceed 100K at the time of recording. They might change in price, but as it stands right now, everything is under 100K. So, let’s get started!
Goalkeepers
Let’s kick things off with the goalkeepers. This position is as subjective as it gets. We look for players with a reasonable height—around 6'2" to 6'5"—and good chemistry links. Here are the top five that we think are genuinely solid under 100K.
Tim Howard:
Tim Howard is our number one. If you fancy it, get him in. He’s got amazing stats for his current price range, making him a very good overall choice at this point.
D Lorenzo:
Up next is D Lorenzo. Serie A teams are incredibly popular with the current SBCs, and this man is fantastic defensively. He also has great overlapping play styles for 70K, making him a no-brainer if you have Serie A links.
Kyle Walker
Kyle Walker was our go-to guy for most of the start of the game. He’s not as overpowered as in previous years, but he still has speed and physical power, making him a beast for his price tag. He’s available for around 2K, which is crazy!
Yes, his defending and physical stats aren't great, but it doesn’t matter with this card. The speed gives him that overpowered feeling in-game.
Jules Koundé
These kinds of meta players are starting to drop a little, meaning Koundé is now comfortably under 100K. You could play him as a center back, but for us, he shines as a fullback. His jockey play style is phenomenal, and I would definitely recommend him.
Marcus Dente
One of the most overpowered and annoying fullbacks in this game is Marcus Dente. Although it says he’s a right mid, he can also play as a right back, center mid, right wing, and right mid, which is mad!
If you don’t have him in your club, just pick one up for cheap and wait for that first evolution; this man is going to be insane.
Center Backs
Now, onto center backs. For our budget BC number one:
Mickey van Deen
His stats are crazy—88 speed, 6'4", and lengthy. If you have his Team of the Week card, you can evolve that one as well. We're jealous; he’s phenomenal this year.
Ronald Araújo
He hasn’t received as much love as last year, but when we’ve used him, he’s been brilliant. He played in our first Weekend League, and at that point, he was over 100K. With his block play style, he’s really solid.
Edimilson Fernandes
A non-rare center back we would definitely recommend is Edimilson Fernandes. He’s quite similar to Araújo, with a bit more speed. You can combine the two for around 80K, which is incredible for this stage of the game. If you're on a budget, consider both of these players.
We keep on moving to Burema, the Serie A equivalent of a Ronald Araújo or Edimilson, with a similar kind of profile featuring speed, defending, and physicals. This man is solid—really tidy if you're on a budget. Then we have Ibrahima Konaté, whom we've also evolved on our RTG.
He’s unbelievable; the man is the definition of a unit with his lengthy speed. You just see this man galloping at pure velocity, decking everyone in his path and having a whale of a time.
Left Backs
This man has to be our best under 100K pick: Tik Atta, playstyle plus. Unbelievable dribbling and overlapping; you're going to have a field day. Defending and physicals are genuinely not bad; his interceptions are crazy nice.
Physicals are probably where he struggles, but with an Anchor chem style, the juice is the speed and that going forward, contributing to the dribbling, shooting, and passing. Rafa Guerrero is an unbelievable option with phenomenal play styles, as well as a playstyle plus.
We didn’t know she had five-star skills; that’s crazy! She’s got a team of the week, we think, as a left winger, which could be interesting. But she is still phenomenal. Speed?
She’s got it in the locker, and genuinely the physicals for some of these cards are just straight-up lying because this girl gets stuck in and will bully your opponents.
Great play styles as well! Marie Müller is actually evolvable with that Squad Foundation Evo. We think these cards give an extra boost to chem from the NWSL.
If you’ve got a Smith Rowe from the same club, it’s a great way to get chemistry without worrying too much while still having a solid fullback. With her Evo, she looks great with some fantastic defending play styles.
The Rory the Lap trait is also a brilliant option. One thing to mention: she is free in the objectives.
We have Dogba up next; he’s just phenomenal—like our budget left back in the Prem, no doubt. He’s a tank at 6'1" with speed, defending, and physical. We're playing Elite Division games a lot, as you can tell.
We're getting 30 wins each week, and I see this man a fair bit in the Elite Division. So for about 2K, you can’t go wrong. It’s a similar story with Alonso and Davies if you need that bit of impact off the bench as well—super sub material.
CDMs
There are some big heavy hitters among the CDMs, but one man we don’t think is available anymore, and we hope you completed this SBC, is such a good price at around 60K: Kaine Teram, 6'4"—phenomenal.
Absolutely phenomenal! Unfortunately, Uve drew their game two days ago, so no upgrades for now; we’ve got to wait for a month.
Frankie de Jong is another brilliant card—fantastic! Playing as that CDM holding works really well. He could also play as a playmaker in the CAM role, which could be vital for chemistry links going forward. We believe Raphinha is getting an SBC at some point. We hope that happens because we love his team of the week, and we’ll be doing that for sure. Frankie is a great way to link in.
Patrice was about 50K; she’s now like 160K—basically FA price and still the lone ball playstyle plus is crazy overpowered. There are also some other fantastic play styles—really nice options if you’re going down the La Liga F route.
Tonali is about 6,000 coins, which is insane. He’s the definition of a budget beast in that CDM role for sure, a deep-lying playmaker plus.
Then we have our lengthy lad, Denis Zakaria. Yeah, he’s a unit! Out-and-out center mids, there weren’t too many that came to mind for me. Nicolo Barella—We're using him right now in our main setup—this man’s pretty damn good!
He feels really quick, really cracks on the ball, and is great in the passing department. Ball carrying, relentless plus, and look at the dribbling stats—he spins like a beast in the middle. Brilliant play styles back it up, and he is a really nice budget option for the cheap Serie A links.
Muis you would have seen on the RTG; we’ve got her Evo. She is honestly the most impressive card for me. We were expecting nothing when we got her; we did the objectives early doors on the RTG, but I can’t drop this card. She is ridiculously quick and cracked in the midfield.
The agility and dribbling are insane. Look at the play styles; there are so many as well. Really, a nice option as a CDM, center mid, or CAM. She’s just ridiculously nice and she’s free—that’s one thing to note.
Alex Garcia is still a really good option at this stage for the price tag. We think his SBC is still available with a press-proven playstyle plus.
He could hopefully fit good evos if EA brings those back, hopefully they do, for the price. Angel Gomez is up there as one of the best budget SBCs; we see him every game in Rush as well.
He’s quick, he’s cracked on the ball, and his dribbling is constant movement—he’s flowing. He’s got finesse shot, incisive pass, and technical abilities as well. We still think box-to-box is probably the best way to use this card, and hopefully, he should fit a good Evo as well.
Attacking Midfielders
Now, let’s talk about attacking midfielders, and we’ll start with Chippy Chips. Four-star, three-star, 6'2"—dead ball playstyle plus. This card is crazy nice, and for the price, it’s really usable and definitely a fan favorite out there because he’s going to get your goals.
He can carry the ball, and the passing and playmaking are solid. His speed isn’t insane, but he can still move at 6'2"—let’s not forget you’ve got base finesse and technical abilities as well.
Shadow striker plus is the role we like. If you’re not a fan of using him in the CAM, definitely try him inside four plus in the right mid role.
Bo Palmer is phenomenal! Neymar Jr., five-star, five-star—yeah, he’s still got those tricks, the play style plus, and the dribbling. This man has amazing animations—the ball rolls, the fake shots. He is so, so good; he feels so smooth and quick on the ball.
Julian Brandt, 6'1", four-star, four-star, tick-attacker playstyle plus. Dortmund with 2-0 up—they were going for the upgrade, but Madrid turned that around.
We're not a fan of that. We would probably say playmaker or shadow striker, but great play styles! Tick attack is really nice, especially how consistent passing is.
They play the ball quickly between your players, which is important, and in the Bundesliga, you can’t really go wrong. It should be a no-brainer.
The Beia to throw to Neymar is a great option—55K with trickster playstyle plus. If you want a quick, crack card, DEI is that playmaker! Definitely utilize that great play styles.
He’s basically the ultimate dribbler, and the ball carrying is incredibly nice. He’s got NWSL links and Brazil chemistry.
Last but not least, we’ve got Paulo Dybala, five-star, three-star. We're hoping for that early game Player of the Month. He’s probably going to get another Player of the Month, but if Dybala gets one, we will be there!
He’s a really nice budget option for the start, and shadow striker plus is beautiful.
Left Mids and Left Wings
Now for the left mids and left wingers, we're going to combine the two here. Freddy Lumberg is really good. We got him from one of our Champs, we think it was this weekend.
Being an Arsenal fan, we just tried him out for a couple of games. This man’s speed boosts are a joke. We had high hopes because we really enjoyed his cards over the last couple of years as well, so Premier League great chemistry links. He’s really tidy and will get you goals.
This man is starting to drop in price, which is crazy nice if you’re on a budget because he is the definition of explosive and cracked. FY Kaza, right mid, left wing, striker as well—versatility is there! Ridiculous finishing, speed, and dribbling, and he’s only 84-rated.
We said it with a few of these cards: if they fit early evos, this man is going to be ridiculous. But we have a few more cards to discuss.
Pedro Gonçalves is a brilliant card. He plays as a right winger for 40K or so. We think he should be available; he’s got all the chemistry links, especially with the boys up front!
The agility and balance are phenomenal; he’s so quick in the footwork, and he can pass, carry, and get involved in the play with goals. We're really enjoying him.
Tips For Getting The Best Players
First things first: When you get into Ultimate Team, we recommend starting by completing some of the beginner and starter SBCs (Squad Building Challenges).
If you're struggling with any of these SBCs or find the squad requirements tricky, you can simply press L1 to go to the transfer market under the SBC screen, purchase the suggested players, and trade them for the pack rewards.
Keep in mind that you'll need around 2,000 coins to start off, along with some players in your club to complete these SBCs.
Focus on completing the Foundations 1 through 5, and eventually, you’ll be able to work towards bigger SBCs like Hybrid Leagues & Nations and Marquee Matchups, which offer valuable pack rewards.
Maximizing Pack Rewards
Completing these SBCs will reward you with high-rated packs, such as 50,000 or 45,000-coin packs. These packs offer a much higher chance of obtaining high-rated players, like an 87+ rated player, with a pack probability of around 99.1%.
You can check pack probabilities and compare these to the regular gold packs.
While you’re at it, you can also preview some packs, as sometimes these preview packs (which cost about 7,500 coins) can yield something worthwhile. If you see a player that looks valuable, you can press Square (or X on Xbox) to check their current market price before purchasing.
Objectives Tab: A Goldmine of Rewards
One thing many people overlook is the Objectives tab. Under the Milestones screen, you’ll find numerous objectives to complete. For example, under Assist Mastery, if you get 25 assists, you earn a Gold Pack.
Even in beginner Squad Battles games, you can achieve these quickly by getting 25 simple pass assists (trap goals). Two games could earn you 50 assists and multiple Gold Packs.
Here’s what you can expect as you progress through assist milestones:
- 25 assists: Gold Pack
- 100 assists: Premium Gold Players Pack
- 300 assists: Rare Mega Pack (worth 55,000 coins)
- 400 assists: 100,000-coin pack, which can contain high-rated players, icons, or heroes.
For example, we recently opened a 100K pack and pulled a hero card, Rui Costa. Although not the best in gameplay, it’s a high-rated card that offers good chemistry.
Shooting Mastery
Another objective to focus on is Shooting Mastery. For instance, completing 50 power shots (holding L1 + R1 or LB + RB and shooting) rewards you with a Mega Pack worth 35,000 coins. Scoring 250 goals earns you a 100K pack. All of this progress is tracked automatically, making it easy and streamlined.
Moments Tab
Next, head to the Moments Tab. There, you’ll find different challenges you can complete. By going to the Star Gallery, you can earn Star Tokens. We have another video explaining how to earn unlimited Star Tokens using two controllers.
You can use these tokens towards rewards like Rare Player Packs.
In Moments challenges, specific squad requirements are crucial. For example, in the World Tour objective, you can earn 72 tokens but may need specific players like one from the Korean League.
When it gets harder, these objectives might require a specific squad rating or chemistry. For example, one Milestone challenge requires an 88-rated team with 33 chemistry.
If your club isn’t quite there yet, keep high-rated loan players in your club—they can help you meet these requirements.
Bonus Tip: Energizer Packs
Lastly, keep an eye out for Energizer Packs. EA tends to release these during promotions, typically on Fridays. These special packs sometimes cost as little as 10 coins and contain a guaranteed 83+ rated player, giving you another chance to improve your squad.
